First off, THIS THREAD IS NOT INTENDED TO OFFEND IN ANYMEANS, PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO THE THREAD WITH YOUR UNBIAS OPINION AND BELIEFS HOWEVER DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ATTACK ANOTHER USERS BELIEFS OR OPINIONS FOR ANY REASON.

I would like to make a disscussion thread on you're personal beliefes, Do you have a religion? How close do you follow it? Do you infact believe in a god/gods or an afterlife.

I am catholic, however i do not practice my religion or follow it at all. The way i see religion is that IF there is a god, dispite my not following a religion he will forgive me and accept me.However i choose to side on science over religion.

I dont percieve there to be a "god" at all, which is a scary thought, the only way i can percieve gods existance is in a non physical respect, a being that exists without existing.

    Another religion topic? Wow...

its ok to believe what you want, but when you say "there is no proof against god, so therefore it is possible" that is nonsense, because its like saying that the given example flying trees are possible. flying trees i guess could be possible in some altered unvierse, everything is possible. But using this to win your arguement makes you look like an ignorant fool. We must look at the facts and what we know, not thinking up fairy tales based on no evidence. If you abide by the rule that "things are possible if there is no proof against them", then all christians who have said this, are actually agnostic. Because there is also no proof FOR god. So therefore if you abide by the previous statement then it IS POSSIBLE that he exists and POSSIBLE HE DOESNT EXIST

i have faith that god doesn't exist.

If someone brings up the thing about the koran and how the book is hundreds of years old and has some relevant things. Well, so what? Just because a book has been around for some time doesn't make it holy. If you base your entire beleif on a single book then I feel sorry for you.

I believe in God and am a Christian. Your first post, was pretty ignorant(not meant in a bad way, sorry if you're offended) at the part that you said 'He'll forgive me' Well, put it this way, basically you're trying to 'use' God, and it won't work, buddy ;)

Also, about people believing on 'a book' - Things have happened to people, a womans son has lepracy(sp?) and she was a strict aethiest, she prayed to God and said 'Lord, if you heal my son, I'll worship you for ever more' thenext morning she woke up and here son was healed. Most people don't just believe in a God/other religons because they're there... Or they have a book... That's like saying, 'Hey, you've got bread! Why haven't you got any butter?!?' Basing someones faith just because they believe in it, is wrong... think about it. I do believe in God, as I already said, but even if you're not a Christian/budda/muslim or whatever, people that do beleve very often have someone to look up to, even if there isn't a God or whatever. When someone dies, they're comforted, by knowing that they'll be with God or are in heaven. Just imagine, you're in a really difficult situation, then you think to yourself, this is out of my hands, I've got to ask for God - You feel that God is helping you and taking control of what you're doing...(I am a Christian and am not trying to put down Christianity or any religon) Again comforting yourself. I know im going on a bit and repeating, but thanks for reading if you did :P

Just my 2 cents, sorry if anyone's offended.

Well for me its confusing to me. If people ask me what I am I will tell them that I am Christian because that is what I grew up to believe. But it is hard for me to believe in God, someone so powerful that there is no TRUE proof he exists.....and why does he not show himeself?

But then also I do not side with science, because a lot of that crap is well, yea just crap. Basically I say I am Christian but I am as far away from that faith as you can be without fully non-believing it.

Its hard to explain, like I want to believe and part of the stuff I can believe because there is factual evidence, but otherwise its hard for me to believe. There are so many religions and like so many people are Christian, but just because they are that does not make it true....just means it had the largest impact in the world society.

So idk...Im not sure what I truly believe.

oh for god sakes. this topic has "flame-war" written all over it.. you can warn as much as you want in the first post, but we all know that topics like these allways turn into something bad. People believe what they want to believe, some have religion, others don't. There is no reason to discuss it, because people certainly won't change their believes after reading some crappy comments written by some troubled teenagers on a gfx-forum.

Why not just respect each others opinion and leave this discussion as it is. Besides, allmost every topic is turned into a religious question in no time, so 95% of the users probably shared their opinion before somewhere.
If you really want to know what people truly think about religion, just make a poll and disable comments. So no-one can offend someone else, and you'll get your answer.

Religion, Religion. Religion is a lie. Think about it, religion is a list of a bunch of dos and don'ts and trying to be perfect. When you look at Christianity it has nothing to do with that. Man created religion because they could not cope with the reality of the Word of God (bible). Religion is deception. There's only One God. Already religion dismisses that. I agree with non-believers, religion is confusing, because it's a lie. Was it not the religious Pharisees who crucified Jesus? Think about it. Religion only shows one side of the story which is why non believers could not grasp the fullness of the Gospel. Prove me wrong.

I have grown up with catholic influences around me my whole life. Catholic school, catholic family. I'm not sure if God exists. I do pray to him sometimes. I am just trying to be as good as I can on Earth and whatever happens, happens. If I am good now, I will go to Heaven if there is one. If there isn't one, well, what will happen to me would have happened to everyone else. I just don't know what that thing is, yet.

Sometimes I pray for God to give me a sign that he exists, but I have never experienced anything so significant that it truly convinced me.

I am a follower of Jesus Christ, so that would make me a Christian. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross 2000 years ago for my sins that i may have Eternal life. I am very devoted to Jesus my faith is 100% With Jesus & he is the Lord of my life. My life is Jesus' and not my own. I believe that all other Gods [buddism, Islam, etc....] are false in my view. Your view may be different. I believe that God created the heavens and the earth [meaning everything]. I believe in a Heaven and a Hell. Following Jesus Christ is a relationship not a religion. God did not create "religion" ether. Religion will only lead to DEATH.
