Do not flame me/neg -Rep me just because you do not agree with me, this is simply my opinion

Allright so lets say we have a married couple, they're both christians, they have a baby after a while and when that baby grows up he is automatically marked as a christian.

And of course it was the same even before he grew up but thats not the point. Now heres what am trying to say, did that kid get to choose his own religion when he was born? Ofcourse not, then why is it suddenly his religion? Because its his parent's as well?

Then its no longer a belief, its more of a Categoray/Identity.

How many kids have you seen that actually have their own beliefs other than their parents'.

NONE! Just because your parents were Christians that doesnt mean that magically you all of a sudden have all of this faith and believe in God and the bible.

And ofcourse they all grow up Christians (or any other religioon, am just using this as an example).

Have you ever seen a kid who's from a Christian familly go to his father at Christmas time and tell him "Dad, i do not want to celebrate Christmas because i do not believe in god."

Am not being judgemental here, i wont say EVERYONE, but lets face it, religion is more of a Tradition/Identity than it is a belief.

And to backup my point, for example, those kids that wear crosses, you know they're not wearing them because its their Belief, its just their tradition, and [/COLOR]most[/B] would curse at god and all of their so called beliefs if you step on their shoe ties by mistake.

Please understand that am not attacking any of the religions, neither am i stating that all people are like that.

Well you're right. Your parents are doing whats best for you though.

You are not forced at all, to believe what your parents believe though. You can say this isnt the religion for me. They'll be pissed but ultimately its your beliefs. Personally I would never want to change faiths. My religion makes perfectly good sense and excellent ideaologies.

    k it's forced on you...

so my parents raised em to wear clothes

Did I have a choice. Nope.

so it's my parents fault i wear clothes...

and for the record, my parents are effectively atheists an I'm the only practicing Christian in my household.
