Yep. It finally happened to me. I didn't think it would happen to me but it did. I didn't even have my Xbox 360 for one full year. When I saw the red ring of death, I proceeded to unplug my 360 from it's power supply. It turned off and a couple minutes later it was working just fine again. In fact, I'm playing it on Xbox Live right now. So does this mean my Xbox isn't broken? I mean it plays perfectly. Or will it show me the dreaded Red Ring of Death again in the future?
different red rings mean different problems. Most are easily fixable but there is like one problem that isn't.
you need to send it over to M$, which they cover the cost of the freight and ship one back to you, usually takes a few weeks, and if you're lucky, you might get a box out of the new batch that doesnt have the gpu overheating (rrod) problems that the first and intial batches had
hahahahah, i had that problem twice, ------ing microsoft, well, the onlly solution i think is to send it in often it will work after you first get it, but everytime the chance of it happenning goes up, until u freeze at the logo screen like someone said, then ur ------ed
Unless it was really hot at the time, its on its way out (probably) if it happens again its probably best to send it in, or try the towel trick, wrap it in some towels let it run for about 10 minutes or so and then let it cool, some times, this can fix it but i doubt its going to last long (made my console work for about 3 minutes but never again(search you tube for towel trick for more info(do it at your own risk you might set your house on fire))) I think the problem has something to do with the graphics card and or something becoming detached be it the graphics card or heatsink.
Its just the GPU hardware overheating, and burning the core itself The heatsink is pretty bad as dissipating heat, and it keeps it on the core, which in turn overheats it, and causes it to die The towel trick has worked for a mate of mine in the past, it basically draws the heat out of the unit after letting it run for 15 minutes, then when you take off the towel, your xbox should be warm to touch, but the heat has been mainly transferred to the towel. Im more worried about the power pack overheating, those things get rediculously hot >_<
