Ive always wondered this, and i guess ill finally put a thread out about it. Back in the old days, did you guys use to buy tags because they looked good? or because they were rated highly? Being rated the highest, ive noticed a huge change in my business, and it keeps growing. Do you think you buy based on rating or based on appearence. Please explain your position also.
Well, personally, I buy sigs depending on what I think of them. Not on who made them, or what others think of them...As long as they look good to me, I feel that's all that matters. =) And remember that business is always a good thing dude. ^_^
People these days tend to buy sigs depending on who made them and the rating. I only bought two tags since I've been here, and that was because I really liked how they looked. So basically, I buy from appearence. But business plays a part too, like how people only buy tags made by certain people, just because they know everyone else wants to copy that person's style so a tutorial from that tag would sell alot.
id buy for appearance but i never have enough creds but i dont care for ratings at all, if you're high rated i dont care i wont buy something just for that reason
well, i'm more into the creation of GFX work more than buying, but my view is this: all artists have good periods and bad periods - but rankings don't change with that cycle. so, hypothetically speaking, i could buy a tag made by a high level artist while he's slumping. so it won't look that good, it'll be off, not his best, etc. so while rankings affect price levels, they don't always reflect the quality of the GFX work on a consistent basis. in my opinion, you should buy whatever stands out to you. everybody's tastes are different, but when you see a tag that makes you say WOW, just buy it, whoever made it.
i could careless about ratings, final outcome matters to me... even though let say a --- made it but that style has been done for like million times already, I wouldn't even bother. I always look for something new, whether it's --- or not
I buy based on the rank and who made it a lot, because thats what other people will buy. It really doesn't give newer people a chance though.
I only buy if i can resell high if i cant then i wont waste my creds on a sig lol. and basically people that say Appearance, you can say appearance, but we know that more the half the people here, buy for ratings.
I always bought on apperance, but yeah the name influenced a bit. Whenever I saw "Lennox" or "Timoz" in the thread tittle I figured the techniques would be good and that I'd learn something, which was true. But just because it was made by Lennox didn't mean I'd automatically buy it if I thought the outcome looked crappy. I'm talking LR rights here, everyone else in this topic seems to be talking about FR.
ya most people tend to buy stuff based on who made it or what its rated. personaly i buy stuff based on whether i like it or not but as Ascillor the name and rating behind the tag also influence me.
Appearance>Ratings I have seen many tags from lower rated artists than I liked better than those of higher rated artists
