just got a radeon 9250 256 mb video card and its awesome. but idk about geforce since i dont have it. post the good/bad things about both
nvidia's drivers are more stable and they normally run a little cooler but ATI delivers more power which makes it better for the hardcore gamer. i have now officially completed my new computer and have put in this card: ATI RADEON X850XT 256MB DDR3 PCI EXPRESS VIVO DUAL DVI And I love it soooo much
I have ATI RADEON 9250 Xtasy Visiontek (128mb,AGP). I love it! Infact right after i bought Half Life 2 Collectors Edition the next day I HAD to buy this so the games would work lol!
Nvidia (GeForce) is a more.. knowledgable company. Just look at the GeForce 7800 GTX. It has twice the power of a GeForce 6800 GT (I think thats the name). Thats pretty damn impressive. ATI will have to pick up the pace and make something comparable to the 7800 GTX. They are probably wasteing their time with the Xbox360 custom GPU ( ).
i got a 6800gt when it came out lol they are a very impressive card its 256mb and 256bit!!!! w00t lol i dont think it really matters about the mb only the bit rate cuz most 128mb cards can outrun a 256mb but the 128mb have 256bit so yeh im not a professional on gfx cards lol i could be wrong lol
I can say you made the right choice because i love ATI (even if i have nVidia). I'm an ATI fan, i cand help it To see the + and - for both take a look on tomshardware.com, they have a lot of tests there...
I just got a Leadtek PX7800GTX (nVida's newest flagship card), and i couldnt be happier with its performance. As of right now, until nVidia has my vote, since ATI has nothing that can really compete with a 7800 right now.
