    I previously had 1 gb of memory, dual channel (2 x 512) 3200 (DDR 400)

my one stick of ram ----ed up on me, so now im at 512..

I don't want to wait for Kingston to do the RMA shyt, so i will just buy new ram...

    should I:

    A. buy a new stick of 512

    or

    B. buy new dual channeled ram of 2 x 512

    or

    C. buy one chip of 1gb..

Dual channel is not supported on my board, so if it's not dual channeled, I'm not missing much..

Also, my board, here: http://www.asrock.com/product/K7S41GX.htm , only says it supports DDR 333/266. yet I have DDR 400 in it right now, I really do not want it to be chopped...

since you dont have dual channel capabilites woudl make more sense to get a 1gb so then you can easily later upgrade to 2 gb

jjust buy a cheap 512mb stick... you said you wanted to buy a system during the summer and all decent/modern systems will be using DDR2 so it would be a waste

yeah, but if i buy a 512, it will have to bee ddr 400, to match my other one.

and my board supports 333/266, so the 400 will be cut...

they do but they matter less on systems like p4s and AXPs... they tend to matter most when you have to raise them when you OC.

also since your boards fsb is limited to 333... why the hell would t amtter or not? DDR400 costs less anyway.

just toss some of this in...

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820221005

and don't fvck with corsair, most of the time they overcharge for what you get. When it comes down to it all ram is made in like the same place anyway and just rebranded...

    thats what i thought...
    Im not overclocking it anyway..

and a guy said at the shop that the ram was 400 and the board supports up to 333, and it chucked out one of my sticks of ram...

shouldn't the ram just underclock? i bought an AXP system with ddr400sd ram even though it technically only supported DDR333
