So, I'm trying to make a new computer, and I want it to fly. I'm looking to make an SLI based system, but I've heard that you need a pretty big processor to make it worth the extra card. Anyone know if there is any truth to that? Also, is dual core processors worth it?

I was thinking going with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+, but im not sure if the dual core thing is worth it.

if you're going dual core, go at least 4400+, as that one has 2x1mb l2 caches, not 2x512kb.
and for a top of the line sli system, you really will need a great processor to push the dual gpus (get 2x7800gtx) to their limits.
