Doesnt the 9250 outperform that 5500?... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814103167 just a tad but...yea...
but isnt the 9250 a tad more expensive? yeah, if he can affort 10 bucks more, then he can get that, otherwise get the 5500
So what you are saying is that I could run the games smoothly but the game would not look so good? If thats the case then I will get 1 GB RAM. I can get a video card later.
Why play Source if you're not playing for the graphics? I mean.. that's the whole difference between 1.6 and Source, source is just better graphics, 1.6 is where the skill begins.
I already play 1.6 I just want to know this for a fact. If i get 1 GB RAM on this pc I will be able to run source games smoothly but with ----ty GFX right!?!
Thank you for answering my question. my CPU would not be able to support a better GFX card. I would also need a better power supply and better cooling and probably a new case. I think getting 1 GB RAM is the best I can do with this PC. Doing all that would be like getting a whole new PC. I dont have that money, And 1 GB is the most it can support. There is nothing in the 2nd slot. Just RAM for now.
I can't remember what cpu you said you have, but any cpu should take a 5500. My Semperon 2800 could take it...
just buy a strip of DDR400 sdram for 35 bucks and reuse the 256. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820231026 the added ram won't do much at that low of GFX settings
