after following the steps from official GUI skinning guide in GR : here... i am able to change the outlook of my desktop with new Visual styles... but the windows icons and default file extensions' icons really put me down for the work done before... i have searched through quite a number of post in GR and tried to google it... but still can't find the solution i am looking for... i heard that IconPackager is a powerful icon changing software but i dont want to pay to use it... and i have personally tried IconTweaker but it can't change the icons for a particular file extension... so i am wondering if someone can teach me how to change the icons without any 3rd party program or through the registry with resource hacker (i have tried the solution posted this topic here, but it didn't work so well for me... coz when i change the icon for a folder... everytime i double click on a folder, it will open a new window explorer) or link me to a guide... thanks for reading and hopefully someone can help
it's in japanese though http://www.geocities.jp/iconsetjp/ and if you really look hard enough you can get Icon Packager for free
You could manually change your icons... But IconPackager is nice in that it does all that with a nice and easy interface. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/s...r_03june30.mspx
