OK, well I've been looking at a lot of templates on this forum, and I like a lot. However, the "pro" template-makers make suggestions about the templates, usually involving the use of bevels. Why not use bevels ? I'm just wondering because I am going to make a template soon and was wondering what is the best way to achieve a textured look for buttons (expecially rollovers). Thanks
remember to raise and lower the exclusion (thats how its spelled) to your liking. i think it works like heaven on orbs.
So that should get the effect of a 3D, textured layout ? (and should I dodge edges r middle? ) EDIT: PS, how will you send it ? PM ?
yes some bevels can look really good. I prfer gradients but just the other day a friend of mine made a really nice looking bevel.
It's just stupidly large bevels with huge gradients and drop shadows which looks really bad. Oh and sometimes, inner shadow + inner glow can look good together too, but you need to change the colours.
i usually make templates i like to watch.. what i think looks good. play with the doge tool and gradient change the layer option of it etc
with bevels u have less control over what it looks like. Sometimes bevels can look ok. or if u bevel lower the opacity. idk i just dont like bevels. they are quick and dirty way of doing a 3d looking effect.
