I see tons of people selling their steam accounts in the auction room. If I buy one that comes with Half Life 2 installed (just an example), do I have to have the game installed on my computer already or will it do it for free? Because if I have to buy it anyway, then it would just be a waste of money buying the account. Thanks in advance.
And if that doesn't work.. their are always other ways of obtaining the game files, legally. Really your just paying for the account which has the cd keys stored in it.
How could i download the game files legally? Oh yea I just remembered my other question, what does Source mean after a game name (like Counter Strike Source). I thought it was the name of the game but I saw it after like 3 different games.
Counter strike source is an improved version of cs 1.6, the graphics and game physicas are a lot better but ya need a pretty good computer.
Listen, in order to play HL2 or CS:Source you NEED the cd. I have it, and Ive tried installing from cd, and installing from steam itself, but it will always ask you for a cd. And im not lying considering i bought hl2 and cs source from best buy.
pretty much i buy steam acounts if you want to like both play the same game sitting next to each other and you just use the cd key on them instead of your own. i say you should own the game before you buy steam acount with it on
well no it wont be a problem , after u get that account u just login to it and u will get the "My Games" List u will see Half Life 2 in the not installed menu , and since its not installed right click it and select install , steam will start downloading the files and installing it for u wich takes a while , but if u bought the cd's , u just finish the setup (the game is 5 CD's but doesnt take lots of time) after ur finished with the setup and enter the cd key in an account , it just takes like 5 mins for steam to finish updating the game for u and ur ready to play since u have allready got all the files u need cuz u installed it from the cd's , same goes for condition zero and condition zero deleted scenes and counter strike source but i advice u to just buy the game , if u want to install and download the files of the game from steam directly , it will take over 2 hours! trust me! so no u dont need the cd's , also about the Source Thing After Counter Strike , as far as i know , its a source engine like a new kind of graphics for counter strike , u see if u bought half life 2 gold , u will get the game Half Life Source , thats the same old half life but with the new graphics Source hope that helps
just buy a steam account which has hl2 and cs:source already..then when u login to that account the game is there for install..just double click it, install, and PLAY..some of da other msg's here will confuse you
