Alright my Photoshop has been fine for a long time, then recently I noticed that the quality of EVERYTHING I create has dropped drastically while I create it. Even before I save anything, gradients, or anything else that changes colors look horrific. Everything looks like a gif even while I make it. Does anyone know why this is happening? Here is an example:

Notice the gradient levels are really off? This happens with all of my images*Gulps* help?

I think he means how you can see every shade of color in the gradient as solid colors, so it doesnt look too well.. I wish i could help. That does suck ( the quality :P)

It is an omni lighting effect, but yeah, that part of the image.

yeah, that is what I mean, no idea what causes it though, my photoshop was fine, and then all of a sudden it was different.

Doesn't that usually happen with lighting effects?

    Ditto the above.

I thought lighting fx just did that. It's how they roll.

It could be something with the cache levels. Edit - Preferences - Performance

You may want to check this. I when I read your post this was the first thing I thought as well. You might be in a wrong color mode.

    -It is in RGB mode
-I checked the performance, it is all default.
-If I reinstall photoshop, will I lose any of my custom shapes, workspace settings, etc?

That didn't make sense, I won't lose anything, unless I save it? But wouldn't that mean I keep it if I save it? Can you please reword that? I am just a tad confused. Thanks.
