    Well.

How about a render of the week?

After all it is GameRenders... And I think it'd be a nice addition to the forum and would make things a bit more interesting and even ^_^ as some of us renders suck at sigs and never win at SOTW ^_^

We'd make it so that members judge who's render deserves to win, instead of the usual mods doing it. It would give members something to do and keep them interested in the forum. I know it sounds a little hectic, but I'm not going to go into too many details until I know wht yah'z fink of my Suggestiong ^_^

Fairly nice idea, but this would have to be a premium render, and thus half the members will not be able to view it. Sounds like it would be hard to make it so that members judge it.

I believe there would be many problems with this idea.
    1) Its hard to judge which render is better out of like 20-30 premium renders
    2) It would be a popularity contest and well known and liked people would win.
I just think its a bad idea and wouldnt work. But thats my opinion.

Hehe, *gets out his thinking cap*

To be honest, I don't wanna be harsh or anything, but thats how some people see the SOTW right now - the popular people get it.

Personally, I've agreed with all the SOTW's apart from one, so I think they're doing a good job.

I don't think it would be THAT hard to judge between renders, members would look at:

    Usability
    Skill
    Time Taken
    Quality of Cut
    Rararity of Cut and etc.

Dave - We can make it that members put a big huge ANTI-RIP accross they're GFX, so members than can't access the Premium Renders won't really be able to view the GFX properly/Members could set they're GFX at a 50% Opacity with some text to prevent it from being ripped.

Thus giving all the members a chance to vote.

Brotherhood - I know whut yah mean man, it would be hard, but its upto the members, if someone posted a better render than mine, I'd vote for they'res straight up, I don't think a lot of members will go for Popularity, sime may but the majority will judge the renders by quality and not member popularity.

Alternatively, we could get 5 judges to do it?

Like, Painkiller, Format, Bolter, Soldier91 and whoever? Not nessacerly these people but you know whut I mean?

I honestly don't think it would work. It's possible yes but it would be difficult.

    Nah.

We'd make it - Premium Only renderers, members must have atleast 300 posts to enter, and maybe a reputation limit?

It would be cool if there was a fixed render every week.
Like a mod showed a wallpaper and everybody has to render the main piece of that wallpaper.
That could keep there from being 385234578923452735 entrys.

I don't know, it just doesn't sound that exciting. You've planned it out well, but renders just don't offer as much variety as sigs and such.

That is why we have never done a Render of the Week contest, even though the idea has been submitted 100's of times.

If someone wanted to setup a test competition however to see how successful it was, they would be most welcome to and would get some support running the contest from me.
