Well it really matters if you go out often. If your an out door person, go with a portable or a laptop. If your an indoor person, go with a home console or a desktop.

Well im 15 and i have a DS. I have to say im pretty impressed. The graphics do not suck. I think it considered pretty good for a portable. The games suck? Even though i havent played AW DS (dam australia), it has recieved excellent reviews. As with Nintendogs and Meteos. As with the screen, how does it get destroyed? The pen and thumb pad can't hardly penetrate the screen. Also the flop tray protects both screens.

With the internet browser, surveys showed only a little percentage used it. So i think laptops are better for web browsing, including the mouse of course.

Free Music? Do mean illegally? If not tell me.

Movies on the PSP, come on. Why buy a UMD for one device when you can buy a DVD for many devices....including a laptop....at the same price......on a 17" screen?

Hope this clears your mind. Soz about posting again.

i say DS.it may have less games, but PSP sucks imo. i was at my cousins, and his friend brought his psp over,so we were checkin it out,and he wanted us to upload songs onto it,after about 4-5 songs, there wasnt enough room for a game save, and he only have 1 save on there before the music <_< also, the whole "it plays dvds!!1!11!one" thing, you have to buy a special dvd, made for psp,i'd rather watch it on a big tv,instead of on a psp

PSP. A few of the games are good, but later on they'll release great ones (Burnout, GTA).
Really depends if you'd want to spend money on it. I already have 4 games plus a gig stick. I love 'em all. ^_^

And it's also stupid when people bash the PSP when they either don't have one, or don't really know about it.

All about waiting for a few more games to come out on both consoles before getting one. Then again chances are i'll just keep my cash for the next gen consoles, after i decide which to get.

LMAO! Omg these comments about DS are noob, the screen is easy too damage with the pen ----, and you know why there wasn't enough space? Cuz the friend was an idiot not to buy a bigger memory card its 32 mb that comes with it lol. The games suck for DS played them wasn't nothing good. The graphics for psp are amazing and the games are great its same as playing a ps2 on a tv. Also that 32 mb card is not for downloading music its for game saves since anybody smart would see thats too small for a normal amount of music. Also I would ratehr buy a umd movie disc then a dvd since its portable and the screen suits me I don't care about the size since I can see same as on a normal tv, except its an LCD plasma screen. So I'd say psp can kick DS ass regularly everyday. Period. ^_^

I played on both and the gameplay and graphics of the psp are much better then on the ds.
You can play dvd's and music on the psp and not on the ds.

ok here is the thing nintendo has been the leader of handheld gaming consoles for a very long time... so they got lazy the gamboy thruogh gameboy advance was the same graphics over and over again and now they come out with the DS which is just a side product they were working on to counter the PSP but the thing is that the PSP runs faster has better graphics has more memory can run movies and games off of the mem stick has internet browser and has a HUGE array of games. now im not saying the DS is the crappiest thing ever im just saying it isnt as good and that its selection of games is average at best while the PSPs is awesome. If yuo are a major hardcore nintendo fan get the DS but if not PSP is better or you could just wait for gameboy 2 that might be comming out next year or the year after that

I wouldnt call your feiend an idiot. Do you expect him to pay $500 Au (dunno the price of US) just for 1 GIG of memory? It cost as much as the PSP!!

The Games suck? Have you read my previous posts about some games? If your botherd, you might want to read some reviews of DS games. I forgot to include, online Wi-Fi coming at the end of this year with Mario Kart DS and Metroid Hunters.

Yes it does have better graphics, which is the only advantage i see for the PSP. Some games are alright. The good ones i heard of are mainly racing games, which im not a fan of. Ridge Racer and Wipe Out. Playing your PSP is not like playing on your TV since your TV would at least be 10 times bigger.

You would rather buy a UMD because the screen suites you? Im not even gonna bother.

"I don't care about the size since I can see same as on a normal tv, except its an LCD plasma screen." Can you please rephrase that.

PSP kick DS's ass? Last I checked the sales chart, DS was kicking PSP's ass. Period.

In US, i just ordered my gig stick online for 80, not even half the price of the PSP. I actually have both a DS and PSP, but as soon as i got PSP i completey lost my DS. The graphics dont suck, but the one on PSP is much better. There are a lot more games for the psp, than the DS as well. Most of the DS games are intended for kids also. And i have over 50 songs on my psp, not even taking up 1/4 of my card space, as well as 3 game saves on it. Sure the PSP costs a little more, but it is worth it for all of the great features: internet access, gaming, movies and music.

Well that price i saw at one retailer which was pretty much sony everything. So 1st party memory will always cost more, heaps more.

Yes the graphics are better on the PSP but i generally think you dont need that kind of graphical power on a portable.

With music i use my half gig MP3 which is enough for songs, really. Got 80+ songs and still have half of the space left. So $200 for MP3 plus $200 for my DS. Certainly cheaper than buying a PSP and 1 GIG memory stick.($500+)

I wouldn't say the DS is intended for kids. Just say its intended for all ages since anyone can play it. Any games i consider for kids are educational games which are branded with the nikolodeon logo and are unchallenging.

Movies, Internet access, MP3s. I call those gimicks. Things that draw you to buy it which arnt really neccessary for a GAMING DEVICE. That is the main purpose for the PSP, right? To play games?
