Spong is reporting that the PS3 will NOT be playable at E3 this year. According to Spong the showing of the PS3 during E3 will be "tightly-restricted hands-on debut".Their reasoning for this claim is that many third party developers have told Spong that their games will not be shown at the Sony stand. Spong believes that the PS3 will be displayed as the PSP was.
This could be a possible crowd control tactic on Sony's part, so that everybody at least gets a glimpse of this new machine.

They really need crowd control, back when ps2 was about to be released, not everyone managed to even catch a glimpse of it due to number of people and most of them refused to leave.

Should just wait for the release. There'd be way too many people wanting to play it if it was at E3.

thats true but it just really adds up and creates more "fuzz" that the PS3 will be delayed longer and that it is "impossible" to design. Sony really needs to get it together and start to actually show some proof that they can design the PS3 to its fullest extent and prove a definite release date.

No offense. But you can't trust Sponge's rumors.

Isn't it supposed to be released in November, so why wouldn't Sony make the PS3 playable? I understand the crowd control, but still.....

I think they should make people buy seperate tickets for the hands-on with the PS3. It would make much more sense, and limit the amount being sold so everyone can play it for a decent amount of time.

Yeah I agree with you Sony must present us with proof that PS3 really will be released on November just what they promised or else lots of gamers like me will surely disappointed and doubts Sony's ability to create an innovative console.

Why would it make you doubt Sony's console?

Having a beast like PS3 will surely have complications to live up with - I dont even care if it gets released next year for that matter as long as the errors, the malfunctions, the crashes etc etc are not present to the slightest

For me the dates dont matter , just the console - If it works perfect then basically it will kill anything on its path

Lots of gamers wont be dissappointed/doubt but wait for it to get released - True-gamers would just buy it whenver possible to check the awesomeness :D

Quote of the day: True gamers 'play everything'

"You can't be a true gamer unless you play everything, Besides, I'm only getting XBOX360 to hold me over until PS3 (Sony's next game console) comes out in 2006."

    haha a viewpoint from a person :D

well it makes more sense as it would build the hype and good for crowd control but could the at least have one of the reps or hot floor models plying the console so that we have proof that it works and it would be comming out in the naer future

I have every right to be disappointed and doubt them cause I also have big expectation for their new console with all these hype that they are creating.

If it isn't playable then that just increases the expectations and eagerness to get one = Bigger sales

Its your choice to what you doubt, but every single spec that they have in the PS3 is available now to the public if you doubt that they are not capable of making it. One thing is that they can wait longer, work out the kinks, upgrade the graphics, etc. and wait till the part production costs are lowered so that they can keep the cost of the PS3 lower. Your computer more than likely wont even be capable of playing the games the PS3 will be able to when it comes out. Personally, I think Sony has lived up to their name in every instance of the word since they have been around. Whether it be TVs, stereo equipment, consoles, VCRs, DVDs, computer equipment, etc. and I have no reason at all to doubt that they wont backup what they are saying about the PS3. Unlike Microsoft's shortly lived life in the gaming industry, Sony has been around and has shown proven quality in all of their products. Playstation is still one of my favorite consoles of all time, alongside SNES.

Also, another reason, and highly likely, is that Sony is waiting until game developers can produce well done games for the release of the PS3 utilizing the PS3's complete ability (whereas XBOX 360 was basically released with the same exact games we have now, which really, really let my hopes down for the XBOX). I am personally looking forward to FF XII (which is going between PS2 and PS3 release dates all the time), which has been in development for years now and is highly anticipated by any Final Fantasy buff. With over like a 40 gig capability simply in size of the disks, gameplay, graphics, movements, speech, etc. can all be utilized and there will still be space left over. I will personally wait until it comes out no matter how many postponements they make for it because I trust their products in all cases ("if all else fails, buy a Sony"... hehe... good quote to live by...).

I agree with Demintia. Sony are reliable with their products, Well most of them anyway. But they are just not ready to be releasing, the release date of November seem's bit far fetched but then again who knows. Early 2007 seems more accurate. I myself am a Xbox fan previous owner of a Xbox and currently have a 360, being almost a year ahead of Sony with there release, Microsoft have already won almost all the "Next Gen" market because Sony and Nintendo have'nt released yet.

In a sence Microsoft's market plan was thought out with coustmers in mind and thats why I think that the 360 has leaped ahead in the console race. But who knows? We will just have to wait and see...

(rember that this is only my opinion)

    Thanks, Overlord
