mk... well my PS2 has up and decided to do that traditional "disk read error" stuff that PS2 is known for (the earlier versions... i got mine the first hour it came out). I opened it up, blew out all the parts, made sure it was all clean and now it will read PS2 disks, but not DVDs... which is what I have been using it for mainly lately as I am almost always on the computer. Any ideas as to how I can get it to read DVDs again?
pack it up, send it to sony i think there is a lifetime warrenty on ps2 stuff i did that, it worked fine mine only played silver bottem games and not blue
if you note in my origional post i said i opened it up and blew it out, etc. it voids the warranty (i know, stupid me, but i did it reguardless). Right now it looks like taking it to a local game store and seeing if they can fix it, getting a new PS2 or swapping my VCR for a VCR/DVD combo...
hah yea i blew the warrenty on my cell phone when i took off the cover :\? pretty stupid, but i had to buy a whole new phone gl on your next ps2
where is that... "thingy" technically isnt a good term to use here... ive opened the entire case twice now including stripping it down to the main board, so be a little more specific...
bump before bed, is there anyway i can fix this spending a minimal amount of money? i basically only have enough to finish paying off probation/court fees so the cheaper the better...
Hobomonkeyc - yeah thats exactly what my first PS2 did, only -played silver back games and no blue or DVDS, but i got a nw one which is always used to DVDS
mine plays PS2 games, PSX games, Music CDs, just not DVDs.... its beginning to thoroughly irritate me...
