Okay I wanna learn how to program this summer or at least start training myself to. I am willing to take classes, buy books, whatever it takes to learn. I just wanted to know if you guys had any reccomendations of websites, books, magazines, anything that would help! And maybe a place to start. Any tips are appreciated. FYI: Money is no object so post anything that would help me! So books, programs, anything!
1. go to your local college and take a class on Programming. that will get you started. depending on the nature you want to program, C Basic, C++, C#, PHP, SQL, Java, etc... It's a huge world of programming out there..
Money no object? Okay... do this... http://msdn.com Sign up and get stuff free. You will get the Programmer and Designer issued software... You will get stuff like this... like the Codes for Vista and XP... the actual bones... so you can edit... also you will get free OS's and C++ so don't worry about that... should look like this after a couple years.. + I got more.
I am looking more for the C/C++ area of programming. I use to do webprogramming and I know, html, xhtml, xml, css, and php but I got too bored/frustrated with that and wish to learn to computer program. I dont think so... you just need 800$ and after you are a subscriber... it's 300$ a year I think... I just let them take it out... and it is C++ ofcourse... it's MS
Yeah, you get all the stuff they release... all Beta versions you get delivered to your house... all archives... to your house... all the server stuff... to your house... I recieved a MS Server 2003 (I forget the exact name... I will go check) that you have to connect to stuff in your house and you can program the server to turn on and off your lights at a certain time... start your microwave... you name it...
just curious, 'bored and frustrated' from webprogramming... why? php is relativly difficult. I guess if you want a nice challenge, programming like this would help you. My brother recommends to me to take Java in high school, says its very popular and in high demand. He works for a bloodbank company called LifeSouth... he tests and creates programs for them.. mostly Java he says. Next choice would probably be Opal. But all your decision.
