Smosh uses this pretty neat profile comment system

Scroll down, users can leave comments, and comment other people. It might sound lame, but it gets addictive

Sounds good, but:

I think it will cause grief againt people who hold grudges etc...And will leave comments, and make that person look bad.

Might be hard to keep on top of racial comments etc too.

 

Maybe it can be like rep and admins delete it or you your self delete it?

 

Mods deleting it, would cause alot of work, as alot of people are immature and will just leave stupid comments 24/7...and it can't be helped.

So maybe the remove ourselves could work, but its weather the mod install will let us do it.

I think there's a update of the ipb needed for that.

 

It's nice - but not neccessary in my opinon; I've seen something similiar in other forums. For starters, it would be awfully hard to manage since members would spam countless amount of times. (Not all, but there are always members who will abuse priveleges when given to them - that's life.) Secondly, hope this comment isn't considered advertising, but this seems similiar to facebook - these "comments" would just take excess space in the server.

 

In comparison to the topics and everything, it wouldn't be any worse than a normal post. Spamming comments wouldn't really be an issue until someone starts crossing the line and using it to insult other members. When that happens, the person getting the comments would probably PM one of us about it. I don't see any real issue with it personally.
