Processor What Should I Go With?

    iv got some questions...i want the most powerful processor i can get for my new desktop which im gonna have built...im not sure what to go with thou...can u guys help me out

    Cool. Athlon is a lot better. The Athlon processors are way better built. And it is a lot faster.

    But if you can't afford that, get AMD Athlon XP

    If you can afford it get a Athlon 64 FX55.
    If you cant get a 939 pin Athlon 64 3500+. That way when the Fx's become cheap you can upgrade to it. I recommend using a ASUS or Gigbyte motherboard with it.

    go with the p4 extreme edition.. its 3.73 ghz and has a 2 mb l2 cache and if you get water cooling you can still over clock it to about 4.2 or 1 ghz.. it costs roughly $755 which is alot so im not sire you want it any more

    I have heard though that the AMD's tend to run a bit hotter than the P4's do. I have heard not done any research to confirm this though. But I guess if you have a few extra case fans you should be alright.

    The new Athlon 64's are actually cooler(I mean in tempreture) than the Pentium 4's.
