I'm not questioning anything you guys do I said I was making an assumption on the majority of the GR community. I won't get deeper into becasue I know it will just start a problem over something that is irrevelant to the topic. As for the shooting my ideas down it's fine I am just trying to do my best to help out GR.

Hard to believe I had missed this thread. I'll put in my views right now, as I have been in Gamerenders when it was at it's peak, and where it is at the moment.
For starters, I don't really feel Gamerenders is "dying", however I feel it is in a minor depression, especially since credits have lost ALOT of value, but I see things picking up now.
For everybody stating that it is because of rankings, NSL, etc.. if it weren't for those things, the market in Gamerenders would die. See, the thing is that the members in Gamerenders have changed a bit.. before this site was more of a community and nobody cared about credits, but times have changed, and the new members and even some old members have turned towards making credits and selling them for $US. Things have just changed in Gamerenders, that's all.. everything in life changes.
I also feel that just because there is a new owner, some members have nothing better to do but blame all their problems on him, which is rather sad, but I've seen it happen on many forums before - it's not only Gamerenders.
    Just my 2 cents.

I admit, I am a bit stingy with my credits but that's because usually, if I'm gonna buy a tutorial (which is mostly the reason why I registered because most of the tutorials being sold looked spectacular), I usually see it in the free section 2 or 3 days after it sold to someone, who kindly shared it with people.

I guess I don't have anything to spend the credits on now... @__@

Honestly I think its all stupid. If this site HONESTLY wanted to be all about helping out the community (ala GR Mafia) and help out the members in the gfxing to get better, then they would have gotten rid of credits. Because you don't need credits to make this site to help out fellow gfxer's . And if I hear that "Oh we need money to run the site" or whatever thats stupid to me to. If you don't have enough money to keep GR running then you shouldn't have opened it. I mean I bet GR has gotten alot of money off of donation account and let alone prem accounts are only 5 bucks.

All I'm saying is if the site was really all about helping gfxers then they would have gotten rid of the creidts system so that way there would be no more scammers and morons on this site.

I joined Gamerenders 2 and a half years ago to show stuff I made in Photoshop and to get some help improving them. I had a great time here for a while and I actually got better at photoshop.
I left Gamerenders about a year ago, I didn't have time to work in photoshop or to hang out on Gamerenders anymore.
I came back about 2 months ago.
somewhere in those 10 months Gamerenders changed. People seem less eager to help other members, they don't share as much as they used to, the activity went down drastically and everyone seemed busy getting as much credits as they could... I thought about leaving again.
Now I've noticed that it isn't as bad as it looks, there are still good people around here, people like Kirbir, Gacus and other members who share their knowledge and rescources with the people that visit the forum to show off their work and try to improve it with the help of those members.
I think the biggest problem isn't the marketplace and the greedy members, because those were already here when I joined, I think the biggest problem is the low activity. If we have lots of active members, a part of them, the best part of them, will add to making this place a better comunity.
So I'm hoping for all the sharing, friendly, old members to come back, just for a talk, or to share something you have learned.
If we can get that going new members will eventualy copy this behaviour and will share what they know with us.

I could name many issues. Wait, I already have.

You all have a valid point, I really think it's due time the staff start thinking of ways to incorporate solutions, such as with credits.

    Just my err, 1 cent.

i was one of the nice people who gave away my tuts for free and i would try and sell things but it wouldn't sell that much and i gave all my credits to the gr mafia anyways. but because of those "greedy" members who don't care if your even a human being they will back stab you for a lousy credit is the reason why i stopped helping. im not going to help greedy people.

I've tried pointing this out many times...Its all about popularity. If your not well known, people wont buy from you. And its funny to see friendly bids, thinking that it raises there status. I bet EBK could sell a piece of ---- on a stick and still sell it for more than moderately good tags just because of his popularity on the forums. Nothing will change...And as of GameRenders going downhill, It's really not.
