Your relating GR to RL, hm. Same concept I guess but I dont see how relating it to RL helps.

I wasn't saying we should get rid of the credits it was just a thought that came to my head. "No matter what you say," I wasn't trying to get the admins to change their mind about it from my post .

People keep their creds because they see nothing worth while to buy.

I'm sure that if EBK needs something he can either make it himself, or use SOME of his creds to get it. And from what I've heard, when he tried to get rid of his creds in one lump some the kid bailed out.

If he sold them all now he'd get 414.89$ And thats giving him 5$ for every 1k.

Why should he get rid of them? Does he have an obligation to? No. He's most likely waiting for the most optimal time to get rid of them.

    ----

Us messing with the cred system any more then we have will do nothing for GR.

I seriously think we should go back to shutting the cred system off for a bit. Try to get it back down to what our last goal was.

But meh... It's just an opinion/outlook.

You cant' compare GR to RL and if you do you need to think your though process through. Let's say somebody did pay money for credits (which in my opinion is crazy) what's teh most they lost? Probably 20-30 bucks and THATS a long shot. The average of people probably lost around 2-8 bucks top and that's not a CRAZY amount to go nuts over. If you do go nuts over it your nothing but a 14 year old that lost his/her chance at a pack of pokemon cards. Not saying that you are a 14 year old but I'm just making a generlization on most of the GR community.

I actually am 14. Also, what is wrong with giving a comparison that shows why getting rid of credits is bad? I wasn't directly comparing them, but showing you that just because something has negative effects you should get rid of it.

And $20-30 is actually a decent amount of money. I don't know how old you are, but for a teenager who needs to pay f oney, meals, etc, that is a good deal of money. You can't just ignore the fact that it is stealing, just because it isn't a lot. Stealing $2 from the store is still stealing.

Dude I'm 21 going to school and have a job. 20-30 bucks is like 3 hours worth of work...and you obviously don't DESPEASTLY need that money for meals if you have a computer and are posting on GR. I'm sure your parents pay for everything because of your age.

Nothing with the credit mod is going to be changed right now. We'd have to discuss it thoroughly and weigh the pros and cons of it, so any change wouldn't be for a little while. We've tried controlling the amount you can sell credits for, that failed. We tried turning off the credits to change the focus of everyone's activity (along with controlling the inflation), that failed. We won't be getting rid of the mod completely, that wouldn't be a smart move at all because we would lose a lot of interest in the site. Admit it, the credit system attracts members and keeps a lot of them coming back. If there was no credit mod, a large number of members would leave and we wouldn't have such a large number of people registering each day. There isn't a whole lot we can do, the system is such a big part of the forum that our options are limited quite a bit if you ask me.

exactly. Im at GR to show my work, and sell it for my own personal profit. Sadly, i can say GR is more of a business than anything atm.

Yeah, it's been suggested before. Unfortunately, there's only so much we can put on there.

Just thought of a good idea:

    1. Instead of getting rid of credits all together you can set it up so that you need a certain number of posts to post in the Offers & Requests/Auction so that way you have to be at least active.

    2. Also put a rep limit as well so this way you would have to do things in order to get plus rep and give out tuts or make gifts or something to at least contribute to the site.

I think thats better instead of just letting people have one post and be able to start selling things.

    1. Would support spamming and it would be rather difficult to track the posts of each new member to ensure quality posts.

    2. Again, it would be difficult to monitor this as it wouldn't be much different than what we have now. There is no way for the rep mod to know when a user posted or did something useful or wrong enough to merit a rep of somesort. It would require us to monitor all reps given and then it would be up to us to remove the unnecessary reps.

I'm not trying to shoot down all your ideas, I'm just trying to explain how it wouldn't be feasible for us to institute whatever it is.

WHy does everyone think it is NSL fault, nsl was a site created to provided an ultimate gfx battle forum. In the beginning NSL was fine, but as more people came they needed to add ranks because people were getting killed in the battling.

Anyways about Gamerenders I dont think GR is going down hill at, why?

Because every forum I go to it's the same problem, the veteran(older members) dont like the site, because its not what it used to be like. But the new members love the site. It's all about forum generation, you think the site is going down hill because its not the same to you. The new members dont know what the site was before so its a brand new experience.

Now credits, I am saving my creds till 20k so I can get a tablet tbh

I have noticed that to many people have Donator status on this forum, the Donator section is probably crowd now. Even though I wasnt around back then, I would think Donator status would be awesome because a lot of people dont have it. And you can have a conversation with people and wouldnt see all these post from other nonmembers. It was a safe haven from GR, lets put it like that.

Well too many people have it now, so whats the point of getting it. I think Gamerenders need a new member status, and make it like 7-8k, I dont know what you will offer. But think about, a unwhored section of the forums, where people can get away from idiotic responses, I think people will do it. And how many creds will that add in system.

Side note people ranked high have nothing to do with this so called "downhill site", it is not there fault people buy it

THFM, I am not going to respond to your post, due to the assumptions you make on me. FYI, I pay for many things in my life. My clothes, I paid for PhotoShop, I bought my Xbox 360, I pay for some of my food, etc. Shall I go any deeper into my finances?
