    now, I know photoshop inside and out.

    but I never understood the image->apply image.

    once I click there, I just get a window. with a bunch of options, and theres nothing I can do once in there...

    Click "OK." It *should* do it. If not, you can just press CTRL+A and go to "Edit+Copy Merged." It does the same thing.
