Look this is kind of ridiculous, this is my first time here in about a month and now all of a sudden everyone is calling their stuff semipro and inter and stuff. I feel like a lot of the people who are doing it too have no idea what the ranks are even about lol. I have seen so many people calling their tags semipro which most obviously are not so Im curious why this started when half the people here have never even been to NSL. I dunno where Im going with this exactly, its just a little aggravating because it takes a lot of work to make inter semi and pro there and when people just proclaim themselves to be it without putting in the work it defeats the purpose of there being ranks in the first place.

Anyone else feel the same way about this? I dont mean to start any trouble its just what Ive been noticing and its bothering me a bit.

    EXACTLY.
All the Pro and Semi Pro, well the majority of it is kinda crap. It's all inter stuff and it's really getting annoying. Everyones getting ----y and over-rating themselves

Yeah, same here. I'm getting kinda sick of it. They just thing that even the most noobish sig is a pro sig. They just write that in their title so they hope someone looks at their stuff.
Anyway, its just getting very whored <_<

NSL judgements suck, about almost a year ago i was intermediate (i was like novice at that time, making brush siggies with render etc.), then i improved a lot (lots of people said that) and started to make some lp's, and everybody said i improved alot and then they judged me moderate :P

But thats not what this is about; i agree with you, but i totally don't care if somebody says Pro on their work.

in all honesty answer me this
Whos to judge whos pro and whos not ...
its all a matter of taste
what i might think is like OMG AWESOME
    you might think OMG CRAP
    IMHO
tags / sigs aint pro at all no matter HOW good you are at making them

Large art if done well is pro sigs 9/10 times you use someone elses render how can that = pro ...

I absolutely agree with you gurly whats the difference whether you label yur stuff pro or novice? this used to be about art and expression, and now that may sound really lame but isnt that whats important rather than if you're buying a "pro's" work or not?

ps you're an amazing designer and I love your work lol

They're nothing but silly labels that are in the end meaningless...so who really cares?

Like Girly said -- sigs are NOT pro no matter how good you are because you won't be able to make a living making them. Large art CAN be pro. I sell my photomanips and fractals and vectors and paintings. I'd say it's pro stuff, because I can and do make money off of it.

How pretty something look does not make it a professional piece of work.

Eh, it doesnt bother me much, but tbh people like different things.

Some people who are from NSL who have come here and started selling their stuff for quite alot of credits/$'s i dont actually like, i dont think its pro and it just looks like they have slapped a load of c4d's onto it. (Thats my opinion, so dont start flaming me, lol)

Say for example Timoz and Lennox, yes some of their work is great, i love some of it, but some of it isnt that nice and everyone flamed me in a topic because i said Lennox wasnt nice and wasnt worth the credits he was selling it for, and yet again that was my opinion. Just because they come from NSL doesnt mean all of their work is pro because it isnt.

People rate others for what they see/like, as most people know, i dont like to follow the 'trend' and i like unusual things, but thats just me. If i really like something, then yes i personally will say its pro, but like ive said, everyone is different. Maybe the people who are writing pro/semi pro have been told that they are on different forums, who knows??

    Yeah.
Basically, you make real money, proper worth while mney from it and it's pro. Sig's aren't pro no matter what, while you can be a Pro Buisiness man/women for sig, Pegasus for example

beauty is from the eye of the beholder plain and simple what one person calls pro another may call novice, the point is I think labeling our work like this is pointless, its more about expressing yourself than impressing others isnt it?

Precisely...it's all subjective. I've seen some of Lennox's stuff and while it's pretty....I wouldn't really say all of it is as god-like as people make it out to be. A LOT of the people on here that everyone thinks makes perfect designs I really look at their stuff and don't care for it too much. Plus I also think those people have VERY overinflated egos.

What one person may find to be great others may not. People need reminding of this on occassion.

I agree, i have never stated that i was pro/semi pro/ intermediate, why should i? If i like my work then thats all that matters, if everyone hates it then so be it aslong as your happy with your work :)

If your only doing graphics to impress others then whats the point

DO GRAPHICS HOW YOU LIKE HOW YOU WANT AND WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY NOT TO IMPRESS OTHERS
