Hitler was dead when Americans stationed troops in Germany. You already got a half-decent topic locked because of your racism, mind leaving the others open?

because the independant is a former democrat and the socialist is a socialist
they've aligned themselves with the democratic coalition.

I was just correcting him when he said that there are more democrats than republicans, there aren't.

Two independants that caucas with the Democrats and who will probably be voting with them in the Senate. Democrats control 223 seats in the House. On paper, the Senate is tied, but the House is clearly Democrat-controlled.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to get so political and "hateful" with my next few comments, but I feel very strongly about this.

President Bush is a...well, a dumbass. He continues to "solve" the problem by reinforcing the problem, which is shown by the fact that he is sending 20,000 more troops to Iraq. This war has nothing to do with the safety of America, it's all about the money profits that Bush and Chenney will garner.

What specific company serves to earn the most profits by waging war with Iraq? Haliburton. Who's president of Haliburton? None other than Dick Chenney. If you didn't realize by now, that's all Bush administration cares about. EVERY bit of reasoning they gave to claim it was necessary for war with Iraq was a blatant lie. They said Saddam had ties to 9/11 and Bin Laden...no he didn't. They said he had WMD, no he didn't. The lies go on. Doesn't it strike you as odd that noone has anything to lose by going to war? There's only 1 congressmen who has a child in the army, so why the hell would any of them care about the war, they didn't and showed no reluctance.

Did you know that the Patriot Act, the same act that restricts and limits our privacy to a maximum was not even read by anyone in congress, they just simply "passed" it.

Did you know that the U.S. funded and trained Bin Laden when he was younger, and made him what as violent and intelligent as he is today? Did you know that the U.S. gave Iran WMD to fight against Iraq in a war, then we gave WMD to Iraq as well?

What about the fact that George Bush cheated his way to the election against Gore. Gore won Florida initially and was dubbed the President by many, and then suddenly a recount was ordered? Isn't it wierd that in the recount, Bush wins? Don't think so? Well how bout the fact that Bush's brother is Govenor of that same state, or what about the fact that one of his employees was in charge of doing the actual "recounting?" Sounds like one big conspiracy to me...

    I hate Bush.

Got a better idea? Pull out? What would you do in his situation. Don't tell me you wouldn't have gone in, tell me what you would do about it if you were in his position right now. And why is he a dumbass? Because you don't agree with him or his policies? Well?

Cheney quit Haliburton before he became Vice President. He holds stock options there, just like millions of others. Nothing illegal about it other than the fact that he used to own the company.

Do you know what Haliburton is? Haliburton is a contracting business which has frequently gotten government contracts since it was started. Dozens of other companies do the same.

If that's all the Bush administration cares about, I for one haven't seen them benefit. If anything, it's hurt their public relations. Let me guess, they're hiding it from me?

They said Saddam had connections to 9/11 in the stated goals for the invasion? You mean the ones that Congress was read and voted to send us to war over? Really? Check the interviews and records from those hearings. Saddam's apparent connection to Bin Laden was not a reason for the invasion. He did, however, allow an al-Qaeda group called Ansar al-Islam into the country in 2002. This group was headed by our late friend al-Zarqawi. Just a little tidbit, since knocking down terrorist groups (mainly this al-Qaeda group) was one of the goals for the invasion.

Saddam had WMDs. They're called chemical and biological weapons. We found hundreds, workers on those projects, documents, and even manufacturing places.

Nobody has anything to lose by going to war... except their political futures, which weigh heavily on the minds of those in power. Believe it or not, they want to stay there if at all possible. So they don't have sons or daughters going to war. The rest of the country and more importantly, the voters, do, and the voters may as well be the congressmen/womens' and senators' sons and daughters because they're keeping them in office.

If so, Congress has got some explaining to do since it was them not doing the job. Nevermind the fact that there have been numerous hearings over it... Do you have any clue how the American government works?

Was a matter of convienence. That was called a proxy war, and the US fought the Soviets in Afghanistan through Mujahaideen like Bin Laden. That doesn't mean we made him violent; that's his ideology that does that. The enemy of your enemy is your friend, or so the saying goes. Whether or not this was right is up to you to decide. No laws were broken through this, however.

As for Iraq, they got their own chemical weapons. Iran does not have them at all. The US supported Iran because of a little year called 1979 and a few hundred hostages. Anybody that wanted to fight against Iran pretty much got support from the US in one way or another. Again, the enemy of your enemy is your friend.

What about the fact that both candidates have the right to call for a recount and the fact that it was Gore, not Bush, that asked for the recount in Florida (the "I demand a recount!" deal). The numbers were very close in Florida, so a recount would have been ordered anyway had Gore not requested it. The numbers came through and Bush came out on top. Nobody is *on top* until the votes have been fully counted and the electoral college declares the winner. Again, have you any clue about how the US government works?

you realize most of these "Bush descisions" weren't even rhought up by Bush, but rather by an advisor.

same aplies to Clinton policy and Bush Snerior Policy.

no president has done everything, it's jsut not possible.

So because gore "won" at first, does that mean he cheated? Just because bush won in the recount does that mean that he cheated? No it does not :D In recounts sometimes the other person wins....
