Ill be making a portofolio for myself when I go to college/university within the upcoming year. Unfortunately, the portfolio is lacking a bit. The banner over runs the whole feel of the template, and the content boxs make it look too much like a forum update. It should be more visual and artistic. Good try

A portfolio shouldnt be artistic at all ;) learned it in school. A portfolio should be kept as simple as possible. its only purpose should be informing the visitor of the style and webpages created.

I know, its concept was somewhat taken away with the inverted gradient overlay on the buttons xD ill fix that later

fixed | moved the buttons higher

CSS>tables...HTML is only used to assign class and id information using the IDV tags. that way style and positioning are seperated from content

of course, if you insist on using tables, go 'head
