It is understandable that it is your first and it won't be good. Stop thinking about being good. Good is just a majority vote and doesn't always equal growth. My suggestion is if you like the Windows Vista style then sure be inspired and even copy elements of it if you want to. However, don't copy it 100%, infact, make it look better than windows vista. and I agree with Dr. Funk, you can use the skills you already know and apply these to other stuff, like a template. -
