I keep getting massive popup on my computer so I was wondering if anyone can help me get rid of them. Before you tell me to go search the forums, I just want to say that I already have. Some of the spyware that I've download didn't work. So if someone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it.

To clear out the spy and adware from your computer you might wanna use:
    1) Spybot: Search&Destroy
    2) Ad-Aware
    3) Ewido Anti-Malware (Now known as AVG Anti-Spyware)
    4) Windows Defender
^I'm pretty sure those are all free^

Then you can also use CCleaner for extra cleaning just in case, or run an anti-virus scan just in case.

I hadn't been in a situation like that in years.

I'll be blunt and to the point, if I were to get to that point somehow, I'd likely just reinstall windows.

I used Spybot: Search&Destroy and AVG Anti-Spyware but the result is still the same. Maybe i'm going to try Ad-Aware if that doesn't work, I'll try firefox.

A Huge popup..I'm guessing that you installed a program that has spyware in it like gain/gator or something like that.

start in safe mode(press f8 on start up)

    run scans in safe mode.

disable system backup(it's write protected and things tend to hide there)

again the usual anti-stuff that you've tried from the stickies

    start>>run>"msconfig"
then go to the last tab and disable suspicious stuff

    uninstall things manually.

    that usually does it
