do you guys think, that if IE7 has better capabilities to view pngs alpha, using pngs where needed will become standard in webdeveloping?

that would be so much easier.. for people to achieve certain effects

Yes, but the standard is IE, i think more people have IE than anything else, so people tend to cater for the masses.
Its good to see IE7 supporting png's but i hardly ever use it now.

Yeah, IE7 will include better png support and tabbed browsing, and when MS says they are creating "revolutionary" web browsing technology most of the morons out there will believe it. <_<

Yeah its on beta 2 now.
If you use firefox i would stick with it IE7 does not offer anything new or better than firefox.
If your still using IE6 upgrade if only for the tabbed browsing.

Obviously you dont know what your talking about. Firefox and Opera have had full PNG support for some time now.

However, on topic, I'd love for IE6 to have full PNG support. I often find myself designing something on a website and knowing how much easier I could achieve an effect if microsoft wasnt so lazy (theres no reason for IE6 not to have PNG support, MS has had years to update it)

of course opera and firefox have full png support, but your not gonna do something in webdesign that doesent look good in all browsers, so you wouldnt use pngs. the whole point of this topic was "do you thing pngs will become standard if IE7 has full png support"

i do know what im talking about, maybe you just cant read and comprehend concepts

I dont think PNGs will become completely standard with the ushering in of IE7. Even though software upgrades are available, many users dont do them, either out of laziness or sheer unknowingness. I'm sure a good quantity of people will be using IE6 years after IE7's release.

FireFox for me. It views gifs at full speed and I'm just used to the Interface. I don't feel like going back to IE.
