having just spent two hours finishing off a highly detailed vector i have been doing for a few weeks now, on illustrator, i saved it. The file was located on the I drive, which is the version on my iriver; so i save there, then save over the file on my desktop and another in a folder on my desktop (backups). Then i select the whole vector and get it to show just the line work and save that as skater_linework.ai on my desktop. All fine, or so i thought. I open up the colour version again from my desktop (skater.ai) and WHAT THE BLOODY HELL?!?! it's only f*cking gone back to what it was - not one save ago, but two. Every single file that i saved it as. The new layers i made have dissa-f*king-peared. What the hell can i do, please tell me becasue i am very close to throwing my laptop out the window right now.

I cant understand how this could have happened - i writed over three old files and all the layers i have done since 2 saves ago have dissapeared, gone, f*cked off. would a file recovery wizard help at all? is there anything i can do, because otherwise i have just wasted 5 hours of my life.

hates power cuts, specially when ur doing work and stuff, or if someone trips over my laptop wire grrr.
Anyway make sure you save to a fresh filename instead of overwriting, might make ur problem go away.

and to neptune, never tell someone to kill themselves,
    a) they might actually do it
    B) if they do you could end up on the wrong side of the law (ever seen pump up the volume)

    :P Daz
