Ok well my Ps2 used to not work; but, I took it apart and cleaned the laser. I put in a game, it loaded right up, got to the main screen and everything. It likes to freeze when it has to load something though. It takes a really long time before it gets past a loading screen.

I have some doubt that this is a laser error since it's reading the game fine. What could be causing this?

If you have any information I'd appreciate it, or if you can link me to a site with information.

    Thanks in advance.

MSN if you got it, or here. [email protected]

hmmm i don't know, but a slimline ps2 is pretty cheap you might just want to invest in a new one.

u need to adjust that white turn dial
looks like a quarter sized white plastic gear
just turn it once then load a game and when u find one that works also try a CD and a DVD and put a mark on that so when it breaks again u can turn it back

Your not even allowed to even touch the lens-lol that will screw everything -lol

CHeck if the game is not heavily scratched just in case

    BUT i really doubt it

I think you have wrecked the lens :) Check with a another game

Damn it's obvious it was that game. There's this big a-- scratch on it from where I let a friend borrow it. My other games work, problem solved. Thanks for the help tho. :)

Yea that's what I did.. Then I hooked it back up and it didn't work I was like wtf.. Then I cleaned out the fan and everything, moved the white jobber thingy around like someone said. :P Then....... IT WORKED, fixed my friend's ps2 as well, we both had same problem.

    Sooooo thanks you :)
