I think that if people could afford to pay for it they wouldn't because they probably have more important stuff....

Plus we should already have those features anyway.

All the other boards I go to let me change my name and title whenever I want.

I may use my parents' paypal, but I have a job and I balance the total so I actually pay for it.

And having perks is always nice. I have nothing better to spend it on at the moment anyways, as they gave me the car for my birthday.

That is merely an opinion, however, I do see where you are coming from. To be honest, I just bought the membership to help support a forum that I use on a daily basis. In addition, I know that Shaggy will be spending quite a bit of money to increase the server space on this site, the least you can do is donate some money to ensure he does this.
And to save you some time, my parents did not pay for my membership. I am 17, I do have a job, and I do know the value of money. You would be surprised how many people devote a lot of their time and effort towards this site. Unfortunately, I do not have much time these days to help support a community I have been apart of for 2 years, so this is my way of giving back to Gamerenders. Just my thoughts.

Dont the advertisements pay for server? Also, most forums have all those things for free already...

If anything I would donate the money for time the Moderators and Shaggy spent building up this site not for the extra things you get for the platinum membership. If I had a job and the money I would donate...

As a matter of fact, the advertisements do NOT pay for the gamerenders server. More than 50% of the months with just 1 server (we have 2 servers running GR now) Shaggy was pulling money from his own pocket / other websites with ads just to support gamerenders, and with the addition of a new server, it wouldn't be hard to say that he is paying upwards of $500/mo for server costs, vs the former $300-400/mo.

Shaggy is NOT in gamerenders for the money, believe me, if he was, he would have left this site long ago, but he does wish he had the members support when making Gamerenders happen.

Buy a donator if you can afford it, hit the 'make a donation' at the bottom of the site if your already a platinum, click on an advertisement daily and then just close that window, it all helps Shaggy bring in more money to keep this site alive, because if he were to have a change of heart, this site could go down very quickly, and I am sure its not enjoyable to have greedy members bickering about the site when Shaggy is pulling from his own hard earned cash in order to pay to keep it up for all of you.

For those of you guys actively supporting gamerenders via money donations, helping credits being taken out of the system, and not being greedy and asking for more, more, more, I applaud you, keep up the good work.
