    Plasma vs. LCD televisions.

Which one would/did you choose? Also state why while you're at it :)

    Everything.
    Watching television, gaming, blu-ray's etc.

I like plasma because of its warm and natural colors, plus it has no response time.
But I don't like the fact plasma can burn in, can get real hot at the back and the amount of power usage.

Now I have seen some spiffy LCD televisions that look a lot like plasma when it comes to colors, as LCD can have unnatural and weird colors.

So I'm still having my doubts on which one to get.

I would need to find a decently cheap plasma for a new TV. Maybe like an LG or something, I've always heard good things.

Good quality? Able to run for a few hours without heating, all that jazz? Also, where did you get it?

Plasma has the better picture, it's true but LCDs last longer.

And don't say they don't because they do.

LCD, because they last longer, are cheaper, and have very similar quality.

Also, plasmas don't operate correctly at high altitudes, which I am at...

Simple, every plasma in the area I know of out here has died in less than 3 years, or required crystal replacement, which is nearly as much as the TV itself. Every LCD I have seen has been working for over 5 years and are nearly as bright now as they were when they were purchased, like my monitors and the monitors at work.

I have a 42'' LCD (1080p) and honestly, it does the job just fine.
    HD looks amazing
    sharp, crisp picture
    haven't had any problems yet

I'm not sayin 'LCD > PLASMA N00BCAKE!' or any of that, I've just always heard that if you're big on gaming, plasma's were a riskier purchase due to images burning in. But how long does it actually take for images to burn specifically? Is it like, you fall asleep with the main menu up and your ------ed or what?

I am also high altitude, which reduces the life expectency of the plasma crystals and formation drastically.
