The pinned tutorials are just a stupid way that people try to get sales, and it only worked once. people need to stop copying rena/abusing their powers.

come on..if your topic is pinned and you cant get buisness in nine days....

    'c4dd Shop'
Last sale other then on first page: post Sep 24 2006, 09:02 AM

it says it in thew title....'shop' it shouldnt even be in paid tutorials, at best Shops and services!

    '19 semi/pro tuts'
this is the only one that truely deserves being pinned, but it shouldnt be nayways, he should have the same chance of getting customers as anyone else! i bet you that getting pinned increased sale like 110%, wich is totally unfair to noirmal topics.

    'axiom's thread'
prime example of the unequality shown through pinned topics, on page ten, he has three sales, two of which are two days away! he never has to bump hi topic for people to see it! and he never posted in the topic inbetween the two days.

the pinned topics are just a cheap way to never have to bump your topic, but rena actually made sales, and everyone else; not so much helping to copy him.

this just really bothers me, its abusing power, and hould stop, BFTP even said omce that you can bribe a mod to do it, or just ask them as a friend, wich is totally wrong for mods to be playing favorites anyways.

olnly way a topic can be pinned should be atleast 100 sales.
    or be voted on.

There is an item in the shop that allows you to pin topics, you are aware of.

It also gives the members who want to make credits a chance, if the GR admins and mods didn't want this i'm sure they would take away the item from the store.

Well i agree with you on some points. I personally never bothered to look in the pinned topics. I always scroll down to the non pinned ones.

But i still agree that some should be pinned. But on the other hand they are paying creds for that Pin Topic item. And in the end are they really making that much more ? Post pinned tut topics arnt that active. So at a point i think it cost more to pin it then it actually broght back. But thats only my opignion.

I think that there should'nt be a pin topic item. I think if you want your topic to be pinned you should contact a mod. And if the mod thinks it should then the mod should take like 800 creds for the account and pin his topic.

I abused my power to put it up there, eh? Wrong. I paid to get that pinned the day before I became a mod. Copying Rena? Wrong. I'd never "pose" or copy someone else to try getting extra sales, but I've sold those tutorials over 200 times in total nonetheless. All three of my tutorials draw a few buyers a day consistently, most people don't post in the topic regardless of me saying to do so. So your whole arguement that my thread was inactive is wrong.

The whole point of pinning your topic, in my mind, is to avoid having to bump it excessively anyway. So yes, I did pin it so I wouldn't have to bump it which is why I don't post in it daily... there's no need to do so. I think that's the only point you got right concerning me in that entire post.

I agree with stick's pinned tutorial topic and axiom's, but the others don't belong there. I paid for sticks topic to be pinned, so you know when I did that, so in order for me to make an investment like that, I had to have some thought behind it. If anything, Axiom's and Roundstick's topics deserve to be there, and I can guarantee Renagade didn't influence them to pin their topics, they just had a lot of popularity with their tutorials to pin their topics.

Now that i think of it. It's true.

You buy a pinned topic so you dont have to bump it. Well I just think now that a mod should look threw them once in a while to make sure that it dosent get to cluthered up with useless topics.

there's always been a pin item.

I remember looking to pin my shop back in July, but they were all sold out.

I said I paid to get it pinned, never said I got the item. Either way, I didn't "abuse" (how would pinning a topic be abuse anyway? I mean seriously) my powers to get it done.

it would be abusing by getting more sale then the other members that dont pin their topics, and their topics are on the second page, while yours has a less often post rate and its on the top [not saying it has that, but it has in past]

and also, if a mod has an extra 1k and wants to test the item go ahead.

and diz, how did you buy it? did you pay a mod?

I agree with Axiom. If you pay to get a topic pinned then there you go. It's like if a shop boght the building where the most cars past in front.... is it unfair to all others ? Yea but who cares ... he boght it.
