If you are looking to edit IPB files, Wordpad is what I use. Seems to work fine for me.

well when i use dreamweaver i can use the search button with ease but on notepad and all others the search button only allows one line... which some times makes it rlly hard to find the code that needs to be edited for a forum mod..... i have pro notepad

I generally search for the last line in the code and double check it to make sure it is the correct one, but I always just use wordpad for my edits. I had issues when I tried to do them in notepad, always ran into edit mistakes.

Macromdeia Dreamweaver MX and Dreamweaver MX 2005 both work fine on my Windows XP Media Edition PC.

Most of the time I use the editor that comes with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 but thats over some peoples budget.

But try Cofeecup HTML editor. Its free and its what i use to use back in the day...havnt used it in like 3 years, but it was good when i used it, i can only imagine its better. Heres the link http://www.coffeecup.com/
