Ok so I tried to go to photoshop a few days ago and when I click New Document or Open my photoshop freezes. The buttons turn to that grey color like when you have another window open but you can still see Photoshop and I can't click anything. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and also installed Photoshop CS and I had the same problem with both. Can someone tell me what's wrong?

Aight I'll run AntiSpyware real quick and see if that works. And my computer can handle PS fine... it did before for atleast a year and I had no problems.

    Merged Post:

Ok I ran my AntiSpyware and no spyware showed up. What else could be the problem?

When you unistalled it, did you completely uninstall it? Sometimes there are a few files from the previous install, and the install wizard uses them to start the new install. Go check if there are any adobe photoshop files in the program files and get rid of them. Then reinstall.

Did you delete the adobe folder from the registry? I would say, unnistall it again, then delete anything with adobe from the registry, then re-install PS.

**Deleting the wrong things in the registry can mess up your machine. if you dont know what you are doing, dont attempt it**

Hmm well is there anyway to do it without reformatting? I really don't want to do that because I have a lot of stuff on my comp that I don't want to lose and I don't feel like burning it all to CDs or DVDs.

in the end you will have to...

how much ram do you have? what version are you using?

If you try CS2 with 512mb RAM, it can't work...

Yeah I could run CS2 with 256MB of RAM... so it's not my RAM.
And also it ran fine before then I stopped using it then I tried to use it again a few days ago and that happened if that helps.
