This is very hard to explain but here goes.

My problem is that when i open this certain item (a sig i am making, .psd format) the item shows as normal but about 2-5 seconds later it vanishes from the screen, the layers are still there in the layer box and it appears as if it is still somewhere on my screen but its gone!

This is the only file that does it none of my other sigs or pictures do it. Please help, i expect i've pressed something on my keyboard by accident to make this happen but i can't be sure. Please Help me. :D

Did you try moving all of the boxes for layers and history out of the way incase it minimized under them?

If it's minimized, but still selected try Ctrl+F6 in Photoshop, that will bring it up if that's the case...

That's all I can think of...

If you have your file saved as psd just close and reopen up Photoshop or the file that is in question and continue work, that happens to me too and i don't know what the reason is but i save and then close PS and reopen it again, wish there was a easier fix

Are you using Windowsblinds or any other kind of skin altering application? If so that might be the issue. Ihad a problem like that when Windowsblinds 5 Beta first came out. I found just b switching skins that it solved my problem. It might be something a little more serious than just Photoshop. Does it happen with any other apps? Maybe a repair install of XP or just to uninstall/reinstall photoshop might solve the problem. I know that doesnt sound like fun but it maybe the case. I will see if i can come up with some other solutions for you.
