So I moved out of my house, and I shut down my computer and transported it 300 miles. When I set it back up and started up Photoshop I noticed subtle changes. The tool bar was a single column when it used to be two columns. The history window was gone when it used to be there. I thought these were odd, but they were easy enough to change back.

Then I went to save an image. I use Save for Web, and I notice that the colors in the preview are different than the colors that I was working with when I made the signature. I've taken a screenshot of what I mean:

I had this problem before with CS2, but I had to reformat and when I reinstalled the problem went away.... at least I think that's what happened. It was a couple of years ago so I can't quite remember. I'm using CS3 now, and I've never had this problem with it before. Anyone have any ideas?

I've tried saving in by Save As instead, and I've tried various formats. I didn't really expect this to change anything but I tried anyway and nothing.

Even the colors palette is different:

    Thanks in advance.

DId you update computer or did it update itself? Once in awhile my computer will do that I'll notice subtle differences. Since everything went back to normal (single column, history being gone, etc etc), I would think your comp crashed somewhow to got reset in a way. When my comp crashes PS is set back to default like that.

If not, have you gone through all the preferences and settings of PS? A lot of times one little teeny tiny thing changed and it throws everything off.

May sound like dumb things but Im going off past experience.

    Try reinstalling if nothing else.

yer ur just going to have to go through all your preferences again.

i dont know why it would have happened, but computers are complex pieces of machinery and anything can make them f$*k up

perhaps it took some kind of blow during transport.... who knows

but if going through preferences doesnt fix it.... re-install

Make sure your color mode is set to rbg
That is most likely the problem
Just go to the menu that comes up when you make a new tag and go down to color mode.

I checked the color mode, it was RGB.

I ended up reinstalling and it was fine. Who knows what happened. I appreciate the responses though :)
