[photoshop] Adding A Border To Sigs

ok , photo shop has other ideas about adding a border.
it wont let me

doing this :

Layer>>New>>Ctrl+A>>Edit>>Stroke>>1px black

doesnt work.

for 2 sigs , this method worked :

New Layer>>Pencil Tool color black>>draw border

then it stopped working on the right side of the sig

and the bottom of the sig

see how two sides have the border...

NOW , i need help adding a 1 px border
or some kind of stylish border that i could use for my sigs.

make sure the button called preserve transparency is not checked

I dunno. What I sometimes do, although it takes longer is zoom in and use rect. lasso to select all but that 1 px border, then hit Ctrl + I to select the inverse then fill it.

 

im not sure, everything looks nice

just as a tip....create a new layer for the border

 

Try maken a new layer, then ctrl+a, edit-stroke, that usually works when it's on a new layer.

 

ive done it before , and many times after that. doesnt work.

 

Do my way, works every time

 

if worse comes to worse...just re-install Photoshop
