I'm only in high school and it's really busy but I really want to get into photography! I only have a digital camera that you would use for like family photos and stuff, but I'm inspired by the stuff on dA and I really wanna get into it but good cameras cost like ----loads... Oh woe is me...
Thats great and im glad that you have somewhere that you want to get in life but may I ask what exactly is the point in this post?
Check on your family tree and see if your uncle or someone has interest in photography and actually owns a high end camera, he might be able to teach you how to use it and lend it to you.
Well, I'm going to South Africa to meet my dad, he has a pretty old Nikon camera, not digital, with a few zoom scopes and stuff.
im also newly interested in photography so if u find anything plz pm me about it. but as for advice. i tink its possible to use point and shoot cameras until u are good because u can take pretty good shots with them stgill. slr and dslr are wayyy too much for me and i doubt as a beginner u would be able to use its full potential anyways. so yup. neways pm me
Does your highschool photography classes allow you to "rent" cameras? The one I went to did but only for a set amount of time.
Try to rent or borrow a camera before you take the plunge and spend a load of cash on your own. I have a digital cam which I want to use for some artistic work when I have the time, but at the moment it's just serving as a very expensive paperweight. It got its first bit of exercise in France over the weekend.. I'm not an expert on cameras by any means, but it seems quite good (Sony DSC P200).
Single Lens Reflex, they're the very expensive ones and you have to use different lenses for it. I'd love a DSLR, as my mom's got an old SLR camera that I'd be able to use the lenses for, but I just can't afford one.
Like minxette said, DSLR is the thing you want, and it costs loads of money indeed... But it creates the cool effect we all know, like the background fading away while your the camera is set to focus on the person, animal, flower, ... Anyways good luck
canon's eos system are very good single lens reflex cameras to use, however like some have said, they come with a price. if you are just getting into photography, would take is slowly. invest in a good point & shoot camera, some offer excellent tools and effects for the consumer. if you really see yourself getting into photography or perhaps as a life long hobby, then put your money into buying a single lens reflex camera. hope that everything works out for the best.
