There seems to be a petition out to keep the Original director for the up an coming sequel to the LOTR Trilogy. The Hobbit.

Would you want Peter Jackson to return to Bag-end again?

Aye, I doubt it will be in the same league as the LotR movies, but who knows.. Might turn out to be good..

Ya, i have very low hopes for this one, since the novel and the story line are very long indeed. I see a possibility for a Hobbit part 1 and a possible 2nd with the Return of the King under the mountain. Who knows though, Im looking forward to it, regardless of whomever directs it :P

is 'bag-end' supposed to be a pun on 'Baggins'?

if it is that's just a shame.

It's not a pun. The baggins' OWN bag-end. Many cities and places in the world today come from famous peoples' and explorers' names.

No joke, one of my friends told me that actually might happen. Guillermo del Toro is the man. He said the Hobbit might be happening with del Toro as director and Jackson as producer or something.

I want to see Peter Jackson do it. It just wouldn't be the same, and Peter has experience with the LOTR franchise.

Peter Jackson is already a big part of it. He is co-writing the screenplay with GDT. He is also the executive producer, and GDT has said in a few interviews that he is going to try to stay true to Peter Jackson's vision, while adding some of his own.
