been ages since i posted any of my sigs outside of BC, so i thought i'd venture out. i've got this fire emblem one, kinda messing around in GIMP -- i'm bringing pixel stretch back in a new way! then i've got this nice little custom number, just me and defaults. focusing on kickass text for this one: finally, a matching set from final fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (if you want the renders, i've posted them in the render section. ) with these, the BGs are composites of quite a number of different stocks and renders. for the fran sig, i cut out an airship, then did some MAJOR adjustments to the colors and lighting. i then spent a lot of time making the sky BG, and creating the text. judge for yourself: for the balthier tag, i combined several stocks for the BG, added lighting for the scene to bring it together, but noticed i was missing something vital - some bangaa, to give it that authentic shop feel. so i cut them out and added them in, careful to get the depth right. then, i added the text from the fran sig, as a way to link the two works together. (and also because i spent over an hour getting the the text just right ) without further ado: so whaddya think?
Well. lets go down the list: First One: A little bright, but it has an overall interesting concept. The render looks nicely embedded in the effects, but maybe use lighting effects and blurring methods to make it have more contrast. The only other thing is I am not a huge fan of the reflection text effect used like way. 8/10 Second One: Definately points for creativity! I like the new abstract style and how the organisms were made. Very relaxing, simple, and neat overall. My only concern is the lack of contrast makes the protozoas hard to see on the blue. 9/10 Third One: Like some might say, it is a little too simple. I like the concept of combining render and background, but it doens't suit it with the lacking of complexity. Good text though. 8/10 Forth and Fifth Ones: I just had to put these two together because, well, they are just too well done! I really like the mix of stock and render and it looks almost like an in-game cinematic. The only concern I can find at this point would have to be how the text clashes and is hard to read on the first one. 9/10
The second one is the only one which doesnt please me, lacks some complexity. Third and Fourth are nearly perfect. First one is very nice but not my favorite style.
