as of this moment, a mac is just a special platform on the PC Architecture with overpriced software. LINUX IS FREE. IT IS MORE STABLE, IT IS MORE TWEEKABLE, IT IS FAR MORE USER FRIENDLY AFTER THE INITIAL CONFIGURATION IF SET UP PROPERLY.

you can toss linux on any windows PC. FREE.

At this time, mac OS will not run on: server platforms/workstations, on chips without SSE3, on anything but their own proprietory hardware(with some exceptions but only illegal style)

give me MAC OSX for free though or for a fair price and I wont' complain. OSX is good software, just overpriced and proprietory, sort of like iPods.

In that case, I am not using less RAM than I allow it... I allow it all so it uses all. My system is 64 based.

    Thanks Xlink

The sole difference between OSX and Windows XP is compatibility with software. OSX hardly has any programs which are designed natively for that platform compared to Windows, which supports nearly all new software that is created. Although OSX is primarily used as a work computer, Windows XP definately is a huge step forward in the gaming section of things.

You mean a step back? 2000 used less resources than XP, which makes it better for gaming.

true, but this primarily applies to ram starved systems. 2000 uses maybe 200mb less ram than XP at the most from what I have seen. a fair amount on older sytems, but hardly a scratch at 1 or 2GB, plus it makes certain things faster as more data is readily availabel for use.
