I recently bought Grand Theft Auto Vice City after seeing some stunts on a site and wanted to try them. I got home. Installed the game and to my enjoyment it worked. I jumped into a car and about 30 seconds later my Pc restarts. When it comes back on it says there was a trouble with Microsoft Windows and asks to send an Error report. This has happened with a few other games before and im not quiet sure why. Ive removed Starforce so that shouldnt be the problem.

    My specs
    Pentium 4 3.00Ghz HT
    1gb PC3200 ram
    Nvidia 6200 256mb AGP

    Thanks in advanced

    Few possibilites:
    Adware
    Spyware
    Malware
    Viruses
    Overheating.

What do you have for cooling?

Its defo not spyware or anything like that. it could be overheating because i run stock cooling on a P4 3.00ghz with HT enabled and it runs at about 55-60 which is hot

Updating your video card drivers will Definately fix the problem.

Alright, well, cooling isn't my specialty but I know it shouldn't be running ANYWHERE near that hot. What case do you have? Is it a custom build?

I have a similar processor as yours, mine is a P4 478 pin 3.2Ghz HT processor. I had to buy a Zalman cpu cooler to keep my processor stable. This processor really runs hot. When I would use the stock cpu cooler it would stall while Windows was booting. Sure enough that Intel did not provide an adequate cpu cooler so I bought an aftermarket one. Just make sure it's compatible with a 478 pin on your mobo.
