how about prohibiting the pathetic: i'm hacked treads...

the people who get hacked and post a thread like this are just looking for people to give them creds... and yes its not nice to be hacked but 99% of the time it is your own stupid fault... I nearly live on the internet i have so many passwords, accounts, emailadresses and other stuff that could get hacked... but it never happend.. and you know why: because i protect myself, i use difficult password with number, letters and caps... i have a virusscanner.. which i run at least once a week... i have a couple of spyware programs... and i use hijackthis every month and have my logs inspected by some experts..., and i also never open files of which im not sure of the content but most important of all: I DONT GIVE OUT MY PASSWORDS TO PEOPLE I DONT KNOW...

if anyone would do tthis they would never get hacked... so please stop those pathetic lamers which got hacked by their own fault, and prohibit those threads...

if anyone would do this.. they

I was tempted to post somthing like this myself, i too never get hacked as i do this. If you follow these simple steps, and dont to stupid stuff you wont get hacked.

I think the problem with most people today is their making their passwords stupid stuff, like names, dates, addresses, phone numbers, etc, etc... Its this stuff that they guess first. Or they give it out to people who share it with other people ( and so on ), or their just completely dumb and get it taken by spyware//trojens//etc.

    Good post.

Yeah, but the point is: like 60% of all the people here who say they got hacked, they didn't.

I also thought I was hacked few weeks ago, but I wasn't.

    I agree.

99% of the time it's the own persons fault.

Imo, most of the people who are hacked, are hacked by some one they know, or some one that knows whoever they told their passwords, because the chances of you not knowing them, and managing to guess their password within 3 trys is highly unlikly. And if they keep trying it over and over and the person is to stupid to report the guesses and change their password to somthing more secure, thats their own problem imo... I have no sympathy for them :\

Just make a rule to PM an admin to check credit logs, if there is foul play they will fix it (Shaggy is the only active admin right now)...

Posting just increases post count and credits and brings public attention to them and 90% of the time a mod cant fix an "im hacked" problem because they cant check the logs.

If they fail to meet the rule, they get fined and their credits are not investigated, that should be enough to keep them from posting it publically and just PMing a global or shaggy (varying on the circumstance).

Does it really effect you at all? No, it doesn't. I, like many others, use intricate passwords to keep people from cracking the account. If your account is fine, then there's no reason you should bother with those "I've been hax0red!" threads. Do what I do and ignore them and go on with your life.

doesnt make any sense what you are saying.. i will tell you why:

    1. it brings usefull posts down in the topiclist...
    2. people get creds by making useless posts like: ouch, im sorry for you
    3. People might send creds to the hacked person... while that person could be lying.
    4. There is no use in telling other people you got hacked... nobody can solve it accept for the admins
    5. they take forum space.. it may not be much... but any useless topic is 1 too much...

it annoys everybody in here except for you...so please dont start telling us it doesnt effect us... while it does..

If they are a true hacker, and not a social engineerer, then it doesn't matter what your password is. They don't "crack" it, that is a social Engineer. If they hack your account you password could be, 3s0c31a1das32da-HAKSD-1s2d1asdasd1, they get into the db and get your password.

thats true.. but the chance a real hacker would spend time on hacking GR and then actually hack YOUR account instead of hacking someone else's or just giving themselfs creds throught the database is like 1 on billion
