Tupac, Outlawz, South Central Central, Eazy E, Dogg Pound, Kool Moe Dee, LL Cool J was da best always will be the best, rap is dead i dont listen to this new school ----.
Its all becoming too similar, i mean yea each group may have their own thing, but none of it really sticks out anymore, at least not to me.
hip hop isn't dead. its slowly dying, or maybe taking a vacation. but as stated before... help is on the way. As for right now. get some, Talib Kweli (some tracks.... Listen, Just To Get By) Kanye West (2 Albums of solid Material, and 3rd on the way) Common (been holding it down for awhile, and his new album is fire) these are just a few that come to mind, when i think of current hip hop.
its a good song, but wit all the "totally dude" and stuff, it kinda sounds like a whiteboi band (no offense)
I feel hip hop isn't dead, it isn't mainstream. Radio doesn't play real hip hop, and when I say real, I mean music with a message, flow, power. These rappers don't say ---- on they're tracks but people are biting and buying their music. That's what's hot today, repetitive hooks, music without meaning. I mean artists are so unoriginal. How many Lil' w/e are out there? And most songs' beats sound similar now, with the exception of some. And those three, Common, Kanye, and Kweli, are among my favorite artists because they're putting out albums that tell what hip hop should be. But, with the exception of Kanye, they aren't mainstream so the people don't listen. That's my view.
lol I was flipping through the channels and found the MTV Jams channel. Their "Jam of the Week" this week is "Do the Rock Man" by a new artist, Montana, and it features Unk. What have we come to?
