Wow. So, idiocy is here too.

Ok, first things first: No matter how good of a parent you are, you can't keep your kids from making stupid mistakes. So STFU about Palin being a poor leader, because her kid got knocked up.

I swear, you Obama supporters will come up with ANYTHING.

Second, it's not a parent's job to put the kid on the pill. That only tells the kid it's ok to go out and have sex(and it's not). And anyone wishing to debate this fact, I'm more than ready, and can find the evidence to back my statements up. Only real way to keep from getting pregnant is NOT TO HAVE SEX. Duh.

Yes, it does. From a psychological background you have absolutely NO clue how much a parents role and parenting provides guidance on an individuals choices. Lack of good parenting is almost as vibrant as bad parenting is for the outcomes of a childs choices.
You... are an idiot, and clearly a child. You have provided no fact, thrown around intelligence slurs, and opinions, and treated them as being worth two shits, that isn't limited to this response, that attitude is in every single one of your posts where you disagree with the other individual. Psychological studies show that what happens in your early life has nearly always lead you down a specified path in the future. If you were raped, beat, saw someone get murdered, etc. you will be prone to act violently, generally you will lack lack social standards, you're probably socially inept, and you're at an extremely high risk to become what you once saw, especially if those acts were done by your guardian figures.

Frankly, it IS the parents job to watch out for their child, until the child is 18 and out on their own, the child is entirely their responsibility, 100%. As a guardian, it is YOUR responsibility to protect YOUR child, until the age that the law has set is designated for showing the child is capable of making up their own decisions and they are matured to the adult stages of life. Don't come up with this stupid, 'at 16 years old I am extremely mature and can make all the decisions I want to the most logical outcomes' because you're not. Very few people can make proper decisions which reflect on positive outcomes at that age, very few. Every single person here at 16, and probably as early as 13 or 14 will think the exact same thing, 'I am an adult, I can make my own decisions'. Your not an adult, you can't make good decisions (on far more than a 50% average), and you are *still* under your parents control in a parent/guardian to child relationship legally until the age of 18.

The psychological premise is that if her daughter wanted to go have sex at a young age, lack of parenting occured there, whether it just wasn't there, or it was bad parenting. As a Vice President, and President of this nation, this nation IS your child, how would you like for it to be neglected, or treated poorly? Heres an example, look at Bush. Notice how he has basically completely obliterated absolutely everything good Clinton ever did during his term? That is saying something, because Clinton is hands down one of the best presidents anyone in the modern age will have known, its a shame most people can only think Clinton = BJ.

Outside the psychological aspects, it is the mothers and fathers (not saying Palin as a mother is alone in this) JOB as a parent and guardian to protect their child until they are 18. Allowing your child to engage in sexual activity pre-leaving your house is showing lack of control, lack of care, and lack of commitment to your job. Sorry, parents can and should have control over their child when it comes to sexual activity. Why? Because everyone who has a kid remembers that when they were 16 all they wanted to do was hump, and if you leave two kids alone for a long enough period of time, that is what is going to happen. Every parent has it within their control to restrict their child from being placed in an inappropriate situation, and every parent had the parenting tools when raising their child to provide the child with the decency to not engage in adult activities before they are an adult.

Contrary to popular young individuals belief, having sex, and furthermore getting pregnant at a young age is HARMFUL to yourself. Physically you're body isn't generally ready for it (generally speaking pregnancy here, although the male is generally not even fully developed, as he won't fully develop until his 20s), emotionally your definitely not ready for it, and financially you're almost guaranteed to not be ready for it (if you need to rely on someone else to provdie care for your child full time, give it up, your not a parent, your the problem with modern day society).

    Sorry. Who cares?
So someone got pregnant, you're aware it happens ALL THE TIME right?

It doesn't -really- reflect on them as a parent, considering the vast vast vast number of teen pregnancies, and there's not a chance that all, if even a small portion of those parents are 'bad'. People rarely do what their parents tell them, and although yes they may influence the childs early development and contribute a large amount to their adult personality, teenagers especially are always going to rebel simply because it's human nature.

Don't really care, shouldn't make a difference to any voters at all, there's a bit of a difference between the ability to run a country and the ability to bring up a child and any similarities that might exist are slight to say the least. If anyone changes their vote due to this then they need to wake up and recognise that this happens constantly with or without parental intervention.

In England, at least, as soon as you're 16 your parents have little to no control over your sexual life aside from saying "Not in the house" and that's how it should be. People have to make their own mistakes instead of blaming it on their parents and how they were brought up, want to ------ your life up? Fine, it's their problem not the parents. Yes, peoples up-bringings can skew their perspectives and cause them to act in certain ways, but there's an age where you have to start taking control of your own life and assert at least a little bit of independance. A parent can't keep tabs on their child 24/7 and if their inheret nature causes them to have sex as a teenager then they're damn well going to do it.

Ok, first things first. You DO NOT PUT YOUR KID ON THE PILL. Instead, you teach them that sex outside of marriage is WRONG. OF COURSE THINGS DONE TO YOU IN EARLY LIFE HAVE AN EFFECT. WTF does that have to do with this situation? I don't care if you're the greatest parent of all time. Your kids can still make stupid, STUPID mistakes.

First, Clinton was a fool, pure and simple. Try looking at something other than your wallet. Heck, analysts have found that half of the effects that occured in the finances of the country, occured because of thiongs in Reagan and Bush 1's terms, they simply took THAT LONG to come into effect. Your argument that George W. Bussh has messed up what Clinton has done, is about as Valid as someone saying Allah gave them cash---Prove it. The fact that you think Clinton was so great, automatically says your either an idiot, or you know nothing of politics.

Parents DO have to control their kids, but it's IMPOSSIBLE to control them once they leave the house for school, or to go to a friend's, or ANYWHERE ELSE. Giving your kid the pill doesn't help, it hurts. It sends a message "Hey, I can do this, with no repercussions!". The parent's best way to protect the child, is to teach them that sex outside of marriage is wrong. You have to instill in them good moroasls, or the whole thing falls apart. And that doesn't always help.

A preacher I knew... Not just knew. This man helped my family in many occasions. He Helped my father keep his faith, and helped him make it through the divorce. This man had more faith in God than anyone I know. He was a preacher, and a good one. Well, his son went out, and, like many preacher's kids, as soon as he got out on his own, he went wild. For years he had his own way. But, after a while, he came back, straightened his life out. Now, is it bad parenting when your child does something like that? As parents, you can only do so much. A parent will always blame themselves, but the fact is, kids have a mind of their own.

Point is, Palin could be the greatest mom on the planet, and her kid could still do this. It doesn't reflect on her parenting. Far as I know, none of her other kids have done this, so she's at least what, good on 4 out of five? These things happen. But, like any democrat, you will try to make it an attack on her abilities, which is fine. You liberals don't stand a chance, one way or the other, so throw out your best shots.

See, that's rubbish. Sex is a perfectly normal part of life that people SHOULD be enjoying, as long as they're safe about it. Most of my friends are on the pill (16/17) and it's really not a big deal, pill, condom, anything. You can't stop (as you said yourself) teenagers doing what they want so you make sure they're safe about it.

Thanks for backing my previous point.

Also rubbish, nothing wrong with sex before marraige for the majority of the population. I realise fully that numerous religious families won't have sex before marraige but the VERY VERY large majority of people will, and there's really nothing wrong with that, it's normal.

    Opinion isn't Fact.
    Might want to learn that.

1 - Did I ever state put the kid on the pill? Nope. Fact is, most children over the age of 16 are already on the pill regardless. Why? Because a damn good majority of children over 16 are sexually active nowadays. Another reason? Condoms don't feel good, they take away too much sensation, for both parties involved, and teens these days involved in sex don't carea bout the emotional aspects to it, they care about the physical portion of it. I can't find a single girl my age who isn't already on the pill to be honest.

2 - Bill Clinton is arguably the best president in the last century. He has done more for this country than any other president in the last century, the only thing keeping him from being known that way is his sexual explicitness. Sorry you can't follow this because hes a democrat and you have some deep seeded hatred for people whose opinions vary from your own.

3 - No it really isn't. You have control over what they do, and you can check in on them, I grew up with anal parents for a few years of my life (I grew up in the foster care system, and with family members, and with my own mom) who kept tabs on where I was 24/7, nothing is keeping you from keeping control of your kids. In the bare minimum, not KNOWING where your kids are is bad parenting, and if you can't trust your own kids then something was messed up along the road.

4 - Have you not noticed that those with forced religion and forced beliefs are the ones who traditionally defy them the greatest? Are you aware that the majority of inmates in our prison system were raised religious and continue to be religious even in prison, even through their crimes (oh, and I have been in prison, I can vouch for this, nearly everyone who has been in there over a year is religious)? There are certain things you need to teach your kids, and otehr things they need to experience on their own, this is not one of those situations (knowing that you can't make adult decisions as a child primarily, not just sex, etc.).

5 - Psychologically speaking, there is a mother child relationship underlining to her actions for nearly everything she does. A child's relationship with their parents is one of the deepest underlying psychological traits. Ever notice how nearly anything you see on TV (no I am not going from TV, I studied psychology) they almost always include the question, 'so how was your relationship with your mother / father?' ? Its not a TV charade, how you were raised and who was present in your early years greatly determines who you will be in the future.

This is all basic stuff, when are you actually going to state something that isn't attempting to insult or put something I didn't say into my mouth for your gain?

Funny thing is, I am a republican on most situations, Obama simply is a better choice than McCain, and certainly Biden is FAR more beneficial to the nation over Palin.

Thank you, dem (heh...)! it seems like no one is comparing Palin to Biden. Biden has decades more experience and has already made much more of a mark on the country than some mayor-of-a-podunk-alaska-town turned governor. she is a publicity stunt. not one month ago, she was on tv asking what exactly the "VP does".

Personally, I dont care about her family, but this is a blessing for the Democrats.

Ok, who to reply to first.... Broken first. The idea that sex is a natural part of life, and it's ok to do it when you want, is simply another example of Moral Relativism. The fact that you believe it's ok, pretty much makes any kind of conversation moot. Oh, and by the by, statistics find that the large majority of relationships that have sex before marriage, end up on the rocks. Go look it up.

To Dementia. First, I'm not JUST talking to you. Many other people have stated that you should put your kid on the pill. And the fact that you can't find anyone not on the pill, does not make it "Ok".

Yiou can't just throw stuff up as fact. Heck, Bill Clinton had a chance to go in and STOP Bin Laden, or didn't you know? Look it up on Google. But, he decided not to do it. He's failed on MANY different aspects. And, as a Christian, it angers me that it was under his administration that creationism, and christianity in general, was banned from the public school systems.

You seem to forget, you can check in all you like, but kids can LIE. A lot. But, the fact is, parents SHOULD check in on their kids more often. Again, whether Palin did or not, YOU AND I HAVE NO CLUE. We really have no idea how or wehere or anything else, about the situation.

Wow, nice way to steer the conversation away. This has nothing to do with religion. It has to do with parebnting. The man was an excellent father, but the boy still went astray.

Now, if you wanna go throwing around stuff like that, then you need to be studying Obama's childhood, eh?After all, he was raised as a muslim, and he spent a great deal of time with rascist preachers.

In the end, the argument is pointless. You're not a Christian, or of any religion, from the sounds of it, thus your point of view(such as your opinion of Clinton) is quite different from mine. You think he's great, because he was good for economy. But, he was horrible on every other aspect. Heck, he even admitted that the Health Care problems we're having now, were HIS doing, though many say he said this only to benefit his wife during her campeign.

The fact is, this little pregnancy thing isn't going to change much of anyone's opinion. Though, the ties Obama has with a great many people hurt his campaign a bit, so maybe I'm wrong.

I'll just make a quick comment on what you said, since interest is waning.

As we've said, the very very large majority of relationships will involve sex before marraige, and we're talking far above 99.9% here.
Now, the majority of relationships end up in divorce or splitting up regardless, it's nothing to do with sex before marraige it's because that's just how relationships go.

1 - Learn to spell and use correct grammar, it shows your lack of intelligence and maturity otherwise.

2 - Clinton *was* the idealist for this nation, I simply don't feel like pulling up everything he ever did and posting it here. Not going to the middle east was not a decision on his part, but on the part of the entire government, and personally its something I agree with, they weren't bothering us, we didn't need to bother them, they proceeded to bother us, we went and bothered them. Even before Clinton there was knowledge of 'WMDs' in the middle east, and each president before him decided the same thing. Regarding your religion, and your personal belief system, and such its not much of a concern, I am not arguing with opinion, just the facts, and what Clinton did, for this nation, was far more beneficial rather than detrimental. That isn't to say he was perfect, because he wasn't, but none of our presidents were, and very few of our presidents ever brought as much to the table as Clinton did.

3 - No shit? I unno, I grew up being, for the most part, honest with my entire family. As a self respecting republican christian male I would *assume* your morals would be the same, as would those who you would choose to raise in your household. Again, if you have reason to believe your child *is* lying, then something fucked up along the lines. My parents after I actually found a good set knew they could trust me to be where I was, be home when I was going to be, they knew who I was going out with, and they never questioned me on it. Its a foundation of trust, it builds when your actually honest, parents and children need this. The number one cause for children not talking to their parents is because their parents rarely handle the situation correctly, they blow up, they overreact, they act harshly and without thinking. Real parents hear the story, think about it, decide on something fair, and proceed to engage in conversation to disucss such matters, respecting your child earns you LOTS of kudos with your child as an adult.

4 - Nope, you brought religion into it, stating that because he was religious and raised in 'all the right ways' he shouldn't have turned out wrong. Do you have ANY clue how wrong that is? For example, you won't ever raise your first child the way they should have been raised, you just won't, even if you've been around kids your whole life, if you've read every single book, etc. Second of all, you adjust your parenting methods to best suit the children. No single child will be the same and as such they will require different methods of parenting, its extremely simple logic.

5 - I could care less about his religion. I care about his politics. So far, he has stated very little I can disagree with on a personal level, if its something I have disagreed with, I agree with his stance more than I agree with McCains. I don't care how he was raised, I don't care about his education, what I care about is how I feel he will run this country, and I feel he is the best one suited for it in the current running, greatly outweighing McCain. That isn't to say I think hes the absolute perfect president candidate, I know there are countless hundreds of people who could manage a country better than him, but they aren't up for election, now are they? Out of those made available for election, Obama best suits my personal interests and beliefs.

Your right, arguing with a person of faith is a waste of my time, as I am arguing with logic, which is something you gave up to your religion years ago (assuming you've been a member of the faith for years, because you seem to bring it up in every post you make as if your preaching which generally only happens after you've been brainwashed for so long). I was forcibly raised christian, and I rebelled and I figured out what I believe as a person outside of the ministry, and it suits myself perfectly.

Who actually cares? Does it affect Palin's 'worthyness' of the role of VP? It's like a similar article, about Obama not helping his half brother who is poor and living in Kenya. It doesn't mean anything to the campaign.

    American politics is dirty.
