I've played it, but it's very gore. I really like the grativity pads. It's like doom3, I wouldn't play it in the evening at 12PM
I really don't like this game. i have got 5 reasons why. 5: generic monsters: i am a really big fan of doom 3, and if you think about it all the monsters in doom are unique. eg. the hellknight plays a role similar to heavy troops for the demonic army(the fact that its got no eyes is a touch of genious), or a imp is like a grunt. But prey has a whole lot of generic enemies who are badly imaginated and is so copied it almost looks like a cross between a baddie from halo, a baddie from doom 3 and a baddie from quake 4. 4: no reloading sequences: i am also a big fan of guns. The guns in prey are a big bunch of generic, rocket-launcer steriotypes, (i'm looking at the leech gun here) that surprisingly fires automatically and doesnt reload. Now that sounds pretty crap to me. 3: the setting: In Doom we have a hardened marine. In half-life we have Dr Gordon Freemen. In Far Cry we have the foul-mouthed and and all-so survivable-under-any-conditions Jack Carver. In prey we have some random american-indian guy and his grandpa. err...no thanks. 2: the graphics: it copies every graphics trick in the book, with nothing new to bring out to claim as its own. Cheapskate. 1: the gravity pads. or, "the wall walk" i havent actually got this game, but i have seen trailers and my friend has told me about it. The gravity pads are toatally annoying!! first you walk into a room and you gotta shoot this thing, then it turns you upside down, the you shoot this other thing, and that makes the wall on your left become the center of gravity. You may find this "cool", and personally i think a feature that manipulates gravity is pretty special in a game. But i also think if everything is special, nothing is. I mean, its cool if in one level you get to play around with gravity, but to get through all the levels by turning the gravity upside down, then left, then right, left, down, up, left, down,up, right is damn confusing, and may make you frustrated enough to throw your controller at the screen and scream at the top of your lungs. Youck. i'm getting goosebumps just by thinking about it. Now tell me if im wrong. in the mean time, i'm gonna stay away from this atrocious, abominable piece of ******** :censored:
