Ok overclocking there is no perfect system setup the trick with overclocking is to experiment you should increase, fiddle around with the base clock multiplier, FBS, the base speed that the multiplier is multipling and have a look a voltages this can be applied to RAM as well ^_^ experiment to find the sweet spot of your CPU One problem budding overclockers who use liquid nitrogen is condesation and water is one drop of condensed water hits the motherboard or and exposed electronics the computer's toast. One option for cooling is using a peltier which is expensive but is basicly and air conditioner for your computer without the water and condesation and these things can get the ambiant temp to about 22 degrees C ^_^ Apparently some guy managed to get a FX-57 up to 4Ghz and keep the computer stable. Keep in mind that the P4 Extreme edition can cook an egg with it's heat output considering the CPU is being used as a hotplate. Now your system will not boot windows if it doesnt like the settings, or your computer will simply freeze, or simply not even start up at all you'll probably notice this when you turn your computer on and it just sits there with everything on but nothing with start, so during over clocking you should leave the side panel off so that you have easy access to the CMOS reset jumper/switch (depends on motherboard) you should refer to your user manual to find the reset switch/jumper. Yeah, I hope I made sense and I think I covered most of what you can do :S
#1 Bios they have them "Programs" they clame do it But its a lie if it does work its Not working right Bios is ur only Option #2 I would Not suggest "overclocking" the ram Or Touching your Voltages Unless u know what your doing But if u have Heatsinks and what Not or good heatspreders you can safely... but i would Suggest Look in to changeing your Ram Timeing's In your Bios you can Tighten up your ram timeings considerably By doing that But it depends on your ram Right now im running G.Skill 2*512 kit GBFX TCCD 2.5-4-3-6 @ DDR570
It depends on your case some cases get better airflow with it on Like mine but some don't have enough fans ext so depends on your case DON'T Freak if it shuts off.... it just means u got 2 hot and it died its not the worced thing ever ILL WARN YOU AGAIN DO NOT TOUCH VOLTAGE SETTINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! unless you know what your doing! that can fuc* things up
Well, no luck, my BIOs ----ING SUCK! I cant do anything with anything, and there's no way to change it... =\
Opteron 146 tho, can go up to 3 ghz on air. (sorry kinda off topic, but just to let you know) and with FX you can go up to 3.6 ghz.. since all the multipliers are unlocked !
