    well i would not recomen over clocking a pentium...
    but if u want to u must go to u bios setting and somewhere in there u set the overclocking speed

    if u want overclocking to really help go and get a watercooling system and overclock by a larg amount

    Alright here...

    Inside el BIOS
    __
    1. Frequency\Voltage ->

    2. Put the voltage of the CPU to max (1.55v for me)
    3. Raise 280Ghz (something alone those lines) 10 Ghz.
    4. See if XP/2000/ME/OSX/98SE/95/3.1 boots
    5a. If it does, restart, raise it another 10 Ghz thru BIOS
    5b. If not... restart manually and lower it down 5 Ghz thru BIOS
    6. Repear #3-5a/b

    You have OCed your CPU. Now on to the video card... ;)

    if you have a northwood core, don't go to 1.7 volts unless because of NDS[Northwood Death Syndrome], if you have aprescot core then watch your temps closely.

    contrary to what ludjer said, some P4s can be OC-ed well and anything not netburst based(P1, PII, PIII, PM and celerons based on them) overclock well. What doesn't OC well would be the Prescott core P4s which have serious thermal issues, though Noorthwood isn't so bad, again, keep the volts down to avoid NDS.

    Also when you first start off drop you ram speed down to 100mhz and find the highest point of your cpu by upping your fsb. Then drop everything back to stock, then drop he cpu multi down to 6 and up your fsb to find your max ram oc.
