Overclock My Laptop

I want to over clock my laptop, mainly the video card.
Here is some of the specs;
* Processor: Intel Pentium dual-core processor T2130 1.86GHz
* Memory: 1GB
* HD Capacity: 120GB
* Graphics Card: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
* Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium
* Optical Drive: DVD±RW/±R DL/RAM Super Multi

laptops are not meant to be overclocked, they do not have a 120mm fan on them..

If you want a performance boost, upgrade.

 

and that graphic card sucks really bad I use to have one.

 

want to make it run smoother, use XP or a distro of linux. They have lower system requirements

 

x2, don't start overclocking, you'd better underclock to save your battery.

I would say BSEL mod but I beleive that most laptops use BGA interfaces so the CPU is effectively soldered in place...

and your "graphics card" isn't even a card it's a cheap chip integrated onto the board. Don't expect to be gaming all too much. Onboard graphics, especially intel based doesn't scale all too well.

 

Would it be possible to add a new graphics card in a laptop with the integrated chip?

 

i would let a proff do it.. doing it at home is very risky tbh

 

you wouldnt even have overclocking settings in the bios.

 

There are an extremely small amount of laptops that allow overclocking, atm only 1 in a month or so that might be 3, the Alienware m9750, the Clevo D900C and maybe the hideous XPS 1730, no other laptop BIOS (afaik) allows overclocking, you can OC Laptop vidcards with Rivatuner but not recommended for mainstream laptops with shoddy cooling, just OCing to 625/800 makes my GPU's hit 80C+ in an aircoed room.

As for that Vidcard... even if you managed to find out a way to OC it, it'd be like giving a snail steroids - you wouldn't even notice any effect.
